I am noticing that my dd is having a rough time falling asleep. She takes upto 1hr but lately I'm noticing a lot of kicking and leg waving just before she is ready to settle into sleep. Is this OT or is it developmental milestone issue? She is sleeping about every 2-2.5hrs in the day and is starting to stand longer holding onto objects. She's bum crawling for about a month and a half. Its frustrating because she is tired, but continuously kicks legs on the bed and flutters eyes open and shut... any ideas? Any remedies or suggestions? Every naptime is a battle! I place my hand on her legs continously, or pat or shsh...but its so hard to get her to settle.

Also note: DD is in a 2-1 nap transition and has been for about 2 weeks now. Slowly, we are getting less NW's, and better naps in the am but still EW's.

Maybe that is her way of settling? What happens if you just leave her be?

I've noticed that my DS tends to rub his feet or legs while he settles.. maybe its her way of getting some energy out before she finally sleeps.

Hi everyone. I have left her for a while and she will play for about 1.5hrs every evening. she gets up, rolls kicks her legs, etc. I leave her in her room with the door open and she'll play despite the fact she's tired. The good thing is THANK GOD she sleeps through until 5:30-6ish.
