What does a day's food look like on 'healthy'?

If you're following WW, that should be fine - you definitely eating ALL your points (and you are giving yourself the extra 10 points for breast feeding right?)?

I start with a huge bowl of branflakes with a banana on with skimmed milk, have a ww choc bar with a cuppa mid morning. Couscous, veg and chicken for lunch and some fruit. ww biccies for afternoon munch, and something like fish or chicken with a big salad. But it's been a while since I've done 'healthy' ::)

I'm now only having 5 extra points as Ellie is starting solids. I have cut back on these and she only has them at lunch, but she loves them, and I am making sure I start with milk. I think that has helped as has the rubbish. Do you reckon I should still have all 10? or something inbetween?

Hmm, tough one - I reckon 7-8 - you don't feed that much less breast milk when they go to solids do you?

It gets less but I guess you are right, she isn't having that much less at the moment. I might try to have a tweak around with the points and see.  :-* Thanks Jo :-*

FYI, I am on WW & still using all 10 extra points, even though Isaac just turned 1 and is *well* onto solids.  I had a similar experience with J, too...  I tried dropping some points to correspond to how much I was nursing, but my milk supply dropped, too.  When I added the points back, my milk came back.  I found that I *need* those extra calories to keep my supply up.  I didn't even try to drop any with Isaac nursing, based on my previous experience.  In both cases, I *still* lost weight, even when I was using the full extra 10 points (plus some of my 35 weekly points!).

Really Candice? I'm going to have to really think about that. I have been feeding so much better again with having milk and now I am actually hungry. Maybe I do need the extra calories. I did hop on the scale today and although I haven't lost anything I haven't gained anything. And that's after all that crap plus two takeaway's :o I think you are all onto something here.

Yep.  Really, hun.  Using all 10 nursing points, plus some of my 35 weekly.  Lost 1.5 stone since January.  Supply is still good.  Diet has definitely been better since Jan, but has also definitely included my fair share of crap.  ;)  Did I mention that I had pizza, fried chicken fingers, potato salad, baked beans, and birthday cake all this weekend?   :o :-[ ;D  Those aren't my normal days, but still...  ;)

My thought in January was that if I could *not gain* while nursing, that would be a success (because I did gain while nursing J  :-[  That's what sent me to WW to begin with).  Then I could concentrate on *losing* weight when Isaac weaned.  Turns out that a little bit of portion control has worked wonders, anyway.

At this age her milk intake does not reduce at all. Solids is just alongside milk. Milk intake doesn't start to reduce until 8-9 months (if then). I would say you need 10 points.

LOL Kate! And don't worry about the missing, I've not been on as much.

Well so far I have been making sure I have all 10 extra points, I have found it quite easy ;) mmmmmm choc cake! But today I have struggled for milk, I couldn't understand why then I realised I haven't had much water. Started drinking and I can feel my boobs have got milk in there again. I also stayed the same this week at weigh in which is great. I have lost the weight I put on in pg, so like has been said, if I can just not put on (I did with Shay too, Candice) I'll be happy ;D

Faye, I was just coming to say have you considered WW at the culprit LOL - seems you already got that worked out ;).

But reading on here has reminded me about water.  My letdown has gotten quite slow of late, and I had stopped the fenugreek.  Think I will go back to it, AND DRINK A HEAP OF WATER!

Muah, hope you get back on track now.
