what am i doing wrong?
« on: May 27, 2008, 03:55:10 am »
Please help me figure out what I am doing wrong. MY dd is 13 months old and lately she has been having a hard time going to sleep at night. We do a very good winddown before bed (quiet reading time in room for 20 minutes, then pj's, bottle, a few songs/cuddle time and then goodnight) so i don't think that is the problem.
A typical day would look like this:
7 am wake up
9:30 go to room for quiet time
10:00 sleep
12:30-1:00 wake up (depending on how quickly she actually fell asleep)
6:30/7:00-bed time

she doesn't take an afternoon nap anymore. she hasn't been taking one for a while and now i don't even try.

what should we do?

did the morning nap stay at the same time when she dropped the afternoon nap?

can the 10am nap be pushed back a little? maybe push it back in 15 min lots every two days depending on how she copes and aim for a nap around 11am which would mean wake up at 1.30 to 2pm and then she wouldnt be awake so long before bedtime.

I agree. It looks as if she is OT at bedtime. Six hours A-time is too long for a 13 mo old.

We did what huntersmummy did and it worked :)
