These short are alas very age appropriate, and really unlikely to be from hunger. We're suffering from them too at the moment. The way I get around it is by having feeds independant from sleep, Norah gets fed when she's hungry every 3 or 4 hours or somewhere in between) and sleeps when she's sleepy. I stopped trying to stick in snacks knowing a nap was coming up, 'cause as she's only going to sleep 20 to 45 anyway she won't be that ravenous when she wakes.
A hypothetical day would be
7 bf
8.15-9 sleep
10bf
1030 sleep
11.15 wake
1230 sleep
1.15 wake and bf
etc so you see between 10 and 1.15 is an example of EASAS
EAEAS would be if you were having long A times and needed to cram another feed in, in which case you are more likely to be feeding on waking and then right before a nap, putting your LO to bed still awake (the second A being their wind down)
