this is frustrating - every day is so different!  i have no idea what to expect anymore!   ???

the last few days went ok and i thought things were getting better...
yesterday:
6 awake
10-11:20 sleep (she woke early???)
4:15-5 (couldn't get her down earlier than this...i tired a few times and it just led to screaming)
7:50 bed

this morning:
5:15 awake and crying...finally got her back to sleep but on me  :-[ until 7:30.  this is the latest sleep in we've had in quite some time
have tried 3 times this morning for a nap...all times she just screamed so i got her up.  all times she actually looked tired but i guess not.  it is almost 12 noon and still going strong.  i'm sure this will be 1 nap today but so frustrating as i've been home all day in case she needs a nap!  i gave her half her lunch at 11:00 and tried for a nap at 11:30, guess i'll give her the other half soon? :-[

if she doesn't do a long nap whenever that may be i'm screwed!

yeah for the 6:00 wake up!!

do you think something else could be bothering her???  I am sure she is a OT by now and it is probably making things harder.  what times did you try for naps today.  It hink we may need to brain storm a bit on this.

I keep coming back to the thought of the clock being more important for her too.  I am wondering if maybe you just need to go off the cues and do clock watching now.  but lets think a bit more before you do that.

i usually keep an eye on the clock as well as watch her cues, have for a long time now.  she was very consistently doing 3.5 hours first thing, then 4 hours then 3 hours...but now it seems to have stretched way out and she will not go to sleep until she's very tired.  i used to put her down and she'd chat away in her crib and fall asleep whenever, now if she's not half asleep when i put her dow n she just gets up and cries.

today she got up at 7:30 (slept solid from 5:30-7:30 am after her EW).  tried for a nap at 10:45, chatted and then cried, gave lunch at 11, tried again at 11:30, cried as soon as we went into the room, walked around the block, tried at 12, cried, walked around the block again and she fell asleep in the sling on the way home for a minute or so and i transferred her into her crib at 12:30 and she is still sleeping now.

crazy kiddo.  she was happy all morning unless i went into her room to put her down.

any suggestions would be great, this 2 to 1 switch is HARD!!

so today she woke at 7:30, napped 12:30 - 2:30 and in bed asleep at 6:40.  she was happy all day really unless i was trying to put her down in the morning too early.

so i guess if she wakes early it'll be a 2 nap day and if she sleeps in a bit it'll be a 1 nap day with early bedtime.  and i'll have to give up control and go with the flow.  i'm just surprised this happened this early because all along she's needed more sleep than the average baby.

she is really young for 1 nap, but if she will sleep in later and is happy then I would say go with it!!!  we had to do 1 nap with early bed time for almost a month before B could go long enough to have a normal day again.  Going witht he FLow is really all you can do at this point for the naps.  if 1 nap works then do it, if she needs 2 then do that.  glad she went tobed ok!!!

i know.  going with the flow is hard for me - i like to know what to expect in order to plan my day...and it's been wonderful the last 3 months she's been so consistent on 2 naps.  but today she was just a happy little thing all day and she definitely did not want to go to bed when i wanted her to, so there was not much i could do.  you can't force them to sleep if they don't want to.  i hope it's a good night!  and whatever time she wakes up tomorrow we'll just take it from there!

yesterday she had 2 naps (the 2nd was a major struggle and only 15 min because it was too late and i woke her up to maintain bedtime) and today we're doing 1.  how long should this nap be?  she's been sleeping now for over 2.5 hours and i'm going in now to wake her up.  is this nap usually 2 to 3 hours or how long should i let her go?  today she's slept from 12:10 to 2:50 (i'm waking her up in a minute).

I think that at this age 3 hours would be fine.  as she gets older it should get shorter
