my ds is 16 wks was sleeping threw nite since he was 7 wks old 8pm till 6/7am. for the last week he is waking at 3 then 6 9 and some days wants to eat every 2.5 hrs. also very cranky after naps. does  he need soilds was trying to wait till he is 6mths but i wont b able to if he keeps this up. it seems a long  time for growth spurt i taught they only lasted few days ??? he is my first baby so not sure whats right and wrong in breastfeeding. thanks

Growth spurts can last up to 5-7 days in extreme circumstances - although 2-3 days IS more common.
Starting solids at this age (particularly if you are breastfeeding where you've also got to consider your supply) is not recommended.
Why not post on the breastfeeding board? Explain your routine and describe how your feeds are going. Hopefully we can help you.

Is he satisfied just after a feed has finished?
Weight gain OK?
Nice heavy wet nappies?
Yellow mustardy poos?

Are you single or double-sided feeding?

It may well be a growth spurt but let's take a look at everything.
