When to wean 4 am feed
« on: July 02, 2008, 13:48:31 pm »
Hi!@  My lo is 15 weeks, takes a df at 11 and wakes for a feed at 4 am.  He usually takes a full feed or so.  Just wanting to know when is the average age to drop that feed?  He is a big baby - 16 lbs and a very effective eater - eats for 15 min, single side every 4 hours.
Thanks for your reply
Alex  :)

Well, ds never took to the df but can last about 9hrs at night until 8 mos.  DS was mostly on one night feed from 3/4 mos on.  SOme bf babies still need a night feed until they are closer to 12 mos.  There's such a big range.  The only way I know that I can take away the night feed was when I noticed that ds was comfort nursing and his mroning feed wasn't great.  Trust your judgement.
