Scared of big tub?
« on: July 08, 2008, 17:58:04 pm »
My DS is now 10 months old and we have moved him to the big tub because he was making a lot of mess splashing in the small tub and did not want to sit still. We have been trying for about 2 weeks now and tried everything from putting the small tub in the big tub to putting him on the big tub with a mat and toys but he still cries a bit although not loud. Does anyone have any ideas on how to transition your baby to the big tub? He doesn't mind having water poured on his head but is scared of the shower (probably from the noise. We have been just pouring water on him using a scoop and he is fine with that but we are just having trouble getting him to enjoy the big tub.

J was fine initially, but had some issues a bit later.  I ended up getting in the bath with him for a little while until he calmed down again.  Oh, and to start, both boys used a little chair-like thing like this http://www.safety1st.com/product/detail.asp?ID=2754 until they could sit up better.  They could each sit in the air, but sometimes the water would slosh & try to knock them over.  Would something like that help?
