For Arts and Crafts, Glue?? - For Toddlers
« on: July 09, 2008, 02:42:03 am »
What glue is best, least messy, for toddlers?  I need to buy some but I don't know what I'm looking for.  Do I want the glue stick or the liquid stuff??

I like the stick, less mess.  However, some craft projects require the regular glue bottle.  DD seems to have her moments as to which type she prefers to use.  Just make sure you buy the non-toxic and washable ones and you should be OK.

Have fun crafting!

I definitely prefer glue sticks.  I really like the elmers glue sticks that go on purple so that they can see where they put the glue.  It does dry clear, although depending on the paper, it sometimes takes the colour away from the construction paper (fades it a bit).

we use glue sticks all the time and like Mimi said some craft projects need PVA glue (elmers i guess in america) and other times we use pots of Clagg glue (like paste we had in kndergarten etc), but i buy loads of glue sticks as they are easier in general

Awesome, thanks all, I'm heading out in an hour to buy some!  I realized I should do something more than just let her watch cartoons all day!  I know, it's terrible, I feel like I'm running around in the house all day trying to get chores done while taking care of her and my 10 month old son.  But I need to focus more on her, even for a couple hours a day until she can do a lot of this stuff on her own, instead of having the tv on all the time.
