He went down at 10am and straight to sleep.  I'm finding with 2 naps it's taking up to 30 mins to go to sleep and the day ends up being about 15 hours long so think I have to at least try it!  I've tried everything to get him to sleep later in the mornings and nothing has worked so I'll try this and then try and push the day forward a bit.

Holiday was ok but not exactly relaxing when you have 2 children to look after!  I can't wait till my brothers and sister have kids and then I'll get my revenge!

Make them watch the game in silence!!

I hope that he has had a decent long nap for you.  Hopefully as he gets settled into 1 nap, you can then start pushing the day out a bit later, as he will probably start sleeping a bit longer at night for you.

Abi has been down for a nap since 12, and has already woken once  :-\ DH was talking loudly, so told him to shut it.  Fingers crossed he still has a good nap.

Tell me about it, there is no relaxing when you have two kids to look after.  I sooo know what you mean.

Only slept for an hour and was going to go for it but bottled it and put him back down and he went straight to sleep to glad I did.  It's the first time I've ever pushed his morning forward to 10am though so guess I'll keep trying that for a couple of days in the hope that he starts sleeping later in the morning.  Don't want to give up my mornings though!!

How did the rest of the day go Karen?

Our nap ended up being fantastic.  She woke once when DH shouted cause they scored, and then she woke up just short of 2 hours into the nap screaming.  I gave her some teething gel, she stopped crying, so I left, and she ended up sleeping for just short of 3 hours  :o

She was asleep by 7:15, so fingers crossed we have a good night.  I think her teeth are really bothering her, so not sure how our night is going to be.

How is everyone else doing?

We are having a really weird day. I just posted on the month board. Sitting her wondering when I should wake Lyle.

Things are still going pretty well, especially concerning EW. So hopefully today won't blow it.

He woke up from nap at 3pm so put him to bed at 6pm and he went straight to sleep.  Going to try and keep first nap at 10am and if he sleeps for long enough then I'll go for a one nap day and if not he can have the two naps.  What's the bets that by the time I get him on one afternoon nap then Amy will drop hers???

Sounds like a plan.  Let us know how you get on.

LOL that would be sods law.  Unfortunately we never had that luxury.  DS dropped his nap at 2  :o and has not napped since  :'( So by the time DD came along, the only break I got was when he was in nursery for the morning.

Had another very early morning after 10.5 hours night sleep.  Held him out till 10am again though and he slept for 2.5 hours  ;D  so will put him to bed at 530pm as that will be another 5 hours a time and hopefully get a 12 hour night.  Will see how this keeps going for a while and will then push the nap forward every day by 10/15 mins in the hope of pushing the day forward.  When do the clocks go back to ruin all of this???

We're still all over the place here.  But trying to stay relaxed about it all.  Lewis ended up sleeping in our bed last night ::)

When do the clocks go back to ruin all of this???
Was just thinking about that?  Anyone know what to do then??  Do you just keep them to their same routine. I'm sure there's something on here somewhere ;)

Great news on the 2.5 hour nap  ;D Fingers crossed that this starts working and that you are able to start pushing his nap a bit later every few days.  Sounds like he is coping well though Karen  ;D

With regards to the clocks, I searched on the internet and it says on Sunday 26th October @1am GMT  / 2am BST.  With DS, we tended to keep him a bit later for a few days, and then by the time the clocks went back he was on the same sort of routine if that makes sense  :-\

We had an ok night.  Had a few wake ups with teething, but she settled pretty quickly after a bit of teething gel.  She woke at 7:35 today, and did 5 hours A time this morning, she was no where near ready to go down at 12:00.  I put her down at 12:15, thought that she had drifted off at about 12:35, but I have just heard her banging around her cot at 13:15 :o.

I have just given her some teething gel, and she is rubbing her blanket on her face, so am keeping my fingers crossed that she goes to sleep.

Nicole - {{{{Hugs}}}}  Did it all get messed up when you went away?  I feel pathetic sometimes but I don't like giving him much change when things are going well as they start going wrong even quicker!

Straight to sleep at 530pm last night and woke up at 5am this morning.  Did hear him chatting a bit about 2am but just looked at the clock, rolled over and went back to sleep!  Held him out till 10am and again, straight to sleep for 2.5 hours so will be another 530pm bedtime and will see how it goes for a couple of days before I start trying to push the day forward.

Paula - How did Abi get on last night after her little napping day?!

And here's me thinking 630am is kind of early ;). Is this just a short term thing or has he always been an early waker?

hello ladies!
we are back from aruba and it looks like everyone has been BUSY!

DS did Ok I guess, he napped at least 2 hours a day I was told which is great.  Not sure on the exact timing but they said he had few issues going down which was nice to hear.

Today is the first day of getting back on track. He woke at 615 this morning but i think its cause of too much sleep yesterday. MIL said he slept 1045-1220 and then again 415-530ish and she had to wake him up so thats more than usual, way more. Could he be tired from swimming lessons? not sure..
Anyway today he woke at 615. To avoid EW i stretched him to 1045, he got a little cranky but is still napping now. I think I will wake him at 1215.

Uggg, we had an awful night.  I lost count on the amount of times I got up to re-settle her.  I even brought her into our bed in hopes to get her to sleep better but did not work well, and ended up putting her back in the cot after she had calmed down.

The last time I remember getting up to her was around 5:40, and then she slept until 7:35.  She napped for 2 hours today, and am going to aim for an earlier bedtime so that she can hopefully catch up on a bit of sleep.

Karen, great news on the long nap.  Let us know when you start to extend his days a little.

Hugs Nicole, sorry you are still having a rough time, can you post what your days are looking like now and we can try and help you tweak your routine a bit?

Hey Krissy, great to see you.  Pleased that his first nap went well, let us know how the rest of the day goes.
