Unfortunately it started 3 weeks ago so by now my supplied has just dried up.
He has intolerance to milk, cheese, ice cream, yoghurt, etc...
I did tried so many things-avoiding all dairies, special formulas but nothing seemed to help.
So far that's the only alternative I have found and IM VERY CONCERNED ABOUT SOY.
Thanks anyway for your advice I will keep searching

Have you talked to your doctor about this?  There are formulas you can get from the doctor especially for this.  That is what my son is on as he cannot have milk or soy.

Don't give up.  It can take several weeks for milk to be 100% out of your system.  So he may  be fine with a hypoallergenic formula now.

Which one did you try?  I would personally try the hypoallergenic formula again or talk to you doctor about Neocate which is amino acid based.  Amino acids are the building blocks to a complete protein.  It does not contain any trace amounts of milk or soy.

Thanks for all the great advice on this thread about the different milks to try. My daughter has a milk protein intolerance and we have been giving her soy formula since she was 4 months old and her symptoms did get better but her skin has never really cleared up completely. I do think she may have some issues with soy so we have decided to try out rice milk and I was trying to find out what else I could add to it to make it higher fat and protein and I'm glad I found some suggestions on here to try. She's now 17 months old and still wakes at night also has eczema flare ups and very dry skin which causes her to scratch a great deal.

Do you use a moisturizer at all?  I know when my son had the eczema it would wake him SEVERAL times during the night.   I use Glaxal Base cream moisturizer.  It is hypoallergenic and was recommended to me by the doctor.  I just get it at the drugstore in the skin care aisle.   I would also be careful of the hidden dairy and soy in products.  They go by many names, there is a sticky post on this forum about it.

Thanks for the recommendation for Glaxal Base, I actually bought some about a week ago and have been using it and it's awesome stuff. My daughter is now being checked for Celiac Disease and CF because we ended up in the hospital with a very bloated stomach and awful constipation after a bout of vomitting for 9 days. She's also very thin and always has a bloated looking stomach and she poo's like 2-3 times a day so the doctors were concerned that although she had a virus there may be something else going on. She eats very well but doesn't gain a great deal of weight and is very thin. Hopefully we can figure out what is bother her with the doctors help. She's now on a Milk and Soy free diet and is drinking Neocate.

Hello everyone,
I'm new to this thread, and i really like what I see here.  I'm pretty worried about making sure my son (almost 10 months old) gets all the right nutrition he needs.  I was breastfeeding him until around 8 months old.  He had eczema and was always a fussy eater.  Finally I decided to wean him to regular formula and he broke out.  We had him tested for allergies and it turns out that he is allergic to milk, eggs, peanuts, wheat, and soy!  I didn't realize any of this while I was breastfeeding and had been feeding him things he was allergic to for 8 whole months.  His stomach and intestines were very irritated and that's why he was such a fussy eater and had such a hard time going poop.  We also took him to a gastro-intestinal specialist to see if we could do anything to help his insides heal.  They told us to give him Nutramigen AA.  It's a special formula that is basically just amino acids.  He's doing much better on this formula.  However, they told me that he would need to be on this formula until he's at least 18 months old because rice milk doesn't have enough nutritional value for him.  I also am at a loss when it comes to getting him going with solids.  I mean, he's starting to eat pureed fruits and veggies, but when it comes to finger foods I'm not sure what to give him.  I mean, Cheerios are out because of his wheat allergy.  The store bought finger foods from Gerber are out because of his soy allergy.  String cheese isn't an option either!  As you can see, I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed right now.  Any support or suggestions would be great.

Hi, my son is like yours!  I found this great rice bread in the frozen section of the organic section of the grocery store.  There are a few of them, but I found one that does not contain any dairy/soy/wheat/gluten/eggs/etc.  The Toddler mum mums organic are also safe, no dairy in them.  You can make your own finger foods/cookies too.  I belong to this website http://www.kidswithfoodallergies.org/community.html that has a ton of recipes.  You just tick of the items that your son is allergic too and a list of foods come up.

Great Thread Wendy!  My DD2 (17 months) is dairy/soy/apple intolerant according to the doc who refuses to call it an allergy, evidently the eczema, rash etc weren't "bad" enough to warrant a diagnosis, again, they are not living with the problem.

So...at 15 months when I stopped bfing I did the Rice Milk supplemented with olive oil, flax, coconut milk, etc, anything to change it up so that she would take it, thing for awhile as I was trying to wean her onto Nutramigen (hypoallergenic formula)  She is doing 12-18 Oz's per day now!  Things are much better!  But, what I hadn't realized was that Gerber cereals, Rice, etc have soy in them.  Once we switched to Beech Nut Brand cereals everything was so much better!  It's crazy what ingredients you find hiding in different places!

So true!  I was able to find a rice cereal in the organic section that was void of milk and soy at the time.

I have an 18 mo who has intolerances to gluten, cow dairy and legumes (soy, beans, etc). He has always been slight, but I have been more concerned as he is going through a HUGE growth spurt.

Fortunately, I live in Olympia, WA where I can get substitutes for just about anything.

Pamela's flour and Bob's Red Mill have just about anything I need to make cornbread, muffins and all.

Solid coconut oil is FABULOUS when used as a "butter" on muffins and in banana bread. Olive oil "butter" is great, too ... excellent on potatoes. Both are good as butter substitutes when baking.

Hemp milk has been FABULOUS for protein and more fat than rice milk. I have to be careful with coconut milk as so many brands have a TON of sugar in them. Coconut yogurt has definitely to much sugar.

He is eating lots of salmon (smoked is favorite) and anchovies.

We add 5g of rice protein powder and 1/2 tsp fish oil (berry flavored) in a daily smoothie.

He HATES Hass avocados, which are the most common. The mellower flavored ones are nicer for him, but hard to find. I have discovered, however, that grape juice will disguise about any flavor so grape juice/avocado smoothies it is! Mmm mm. :P

We go to a naturopathic ped for general check ups and health advice. She has the lo on probiotics to help his guts build up the helpful flora he'll need. When he's about 2 1/2 - 3, we'll start working on increasing his tolerance.

BTW, my mom was giving me grief about delaying building up his tolerance and this article came out in our paper today. Send it to any pushy grandparents you may have: http://www.theolympian.com/nationworld/story/788154.html
