Okay, so as embarrassing as this might be to admit... Does anyone remember the scene in Mary Poppins when she gets Jane and Michael to go to sleep??? Well, that little song she sang came on one day when I had been thinking of a special lullaby to sing to JoHanna. SOOOO, it got stuck in my head and now I sing it to her before every nap.
Stay awake, don't rest your head
Don't lie down upon your bed
As the moon drifts through the sky
Stay awake, don't close your eyes
Though the world is fast asleep
Though your pillow is soft and deep
You're not sleepy as you seem
Stay awake, Don't nod and dream
Stay awake, Don't nod and dream.
I could see where the reverse psychology might get consfusing to her when she gets older and understands what I am saying
... We also do Amazing Grace so that if someone else ever has to put her down for a nap, she hears something familiar.
