Is this Night Terrors?
« on: August 06, 2008, 22:12:32 pm »
Ryan talks a lot in his sleep, this has been a normal occurance for some time now.

However, the last 2 nights he has been crying out for either one of us and then goes ballistic while we are in the room, talking nonsence, really crying hard, I think he is asleep through all this, my DH thinks he has just wound himself up and can't calm down. Both times he has needed a wee but tonight he was still in this phase as we took him and it was like he peed while asleep then as soon as I said i was changing his pants as he weed a bit in them he was calm as you like and talking to me normally and wanting a cuddle. It really worries me as he is kicking in the bed, crying so much, neither of us can get through. I try talking to him as calmly as I can though sometimes have to raise my voice to be heard and I am worried of bringing him out of that state like with sleepwalkers.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks Katy, I am not sure after reading that thread that it is terrors, some of it rings true but for example he has been asleep for at least 2.5 hours before this occured.  He certainly seems like he is asleep as the article suggests but he isn't screaming just crying very hard.

I dont really know much about them other than Mikey's usually start off as a whimper then a full blown cry annthen they turn into screaming with fright.... i assume everyones are different though so it may well be that still just minus the screaming. Hopefully someone else will come along with some more info for you xxx
