Ahhh To Be Vindicated. How Sweet It Is!
« on: August 07, 2008, 15:30:49 pm »
Well, a month ago we took Hudson, then 10 months old, to the doctor, our new good doctor, and at that time he was on Goat's milk for about 1.5 weeks.  The Dr said to continue that.  I did for another week and I didn't see one change; the eczema on his cheeks were as worse as ever!  So I switched to the Rice Milk, as seen already on this forum, that was about 3 weeks ago.

Today I went for a follow-up.  I told the Dr about putting him on Rice milk and how his eczema has cleared up, about 99% of it is gone now.  The Dr was really impressed!  He asked me what made me think to put him on rice milk, because he didn't know much about it and said usually when he puts the patients on goat's milk they get cured, he never had put anyone on rice milk before.  I proceeded to tell him about this website and this forum in particular.  I explained how everyone here seems to know quite a bit about mspi and a lot of them end up on rice milk in the end, so I thought I'd give it a shot.

The Dr keep saying to my daughter, who is 2.5, how smart of a mommy she has and how proud I should be for figuring this out on my own, without any Dr.'s.  He is sending me to a Nutritionalist though, just to make sure with the rice milk I am choosing he is getting all the nutrition he requires.

I'm so happy that finally, FINALLY, the doctors agree with me.  When my son was just 3 weeks old I knew something wasn't right.  When his congested continued non-stop for months, and the increasing eczema I just knew something wasn't right!  Finally PROGRESS!!!!   ;D

:)  Like I have said, a mother knows best. We sometimes have to be the detectives in figuring out what is best for our kids.

If it was not for this website and forum either, I would have never ever known about MSPI or rice milk.

Going to a nutritionist is a good idea, just to see if anything is lacking.  Zach saw one at about 14 mos. when he was drinking rice milk and everything was fine.

Really you don't have a choice but to give him rice milk, BUT the nutritionist will give you ideas of other safe foods you can give too.

I am SO SO SO happy for you!
