15 months and NW--should I do something?
« on: August 08, 2008, 22:08:02 pm »
My LO is 15 months old and has been having NW for the last week.  She doesn't cry when she wakes up and I don't go in or do anything for her, but I can hear her in there talking to herself.  Usually this is once a night for about 30 min, but sometimes more than once.

We are kind of in the process of transitioning to one nap.  I usually just watch for her cues and look at what time she wakes up in the morning to determine if she has one nap or two.  We also do mom and baby swim twice a week so she typically has one nap on those days.

A two nap day looks like this:
6:30ish--wake up
10-11:30-- nap
2:45-4:00--nap
7:00--in bed

A one nap day looks like this:
6:30ish--wake up
11:45 or 12-3:00-- nap
6:30--in bed

I am wondering if I need to adjust her bedtime or transition completely to one nap to stop the NW?  Or if I should just wait it out since she isn't needing anything when she wakes up?
Also, we are moving from California to Illinois in 1.5 weeks, so my concern is that if we don't deal with the problem now it is just going to get worse when we move.

Amanda, if I were you I would wait until after you move. Environment changes like that most always screw up sleep anyhow, and you'll be in a different time zone too! I'd just tackle it all at once myself.

Okay, thanks!! I'll just wait and see then.  I wasn't sure if it would be easier to wait or try to get one thing under control first.  But, last night she didn't wake up at all, so who knows what is going on.  I'll just hope for the best with the move!! :)
