ds loves just whole milk plain yogurt.  i think its gross but he has been eating it forever.  i think he likes the tart taste of it, versus sweet.  much cheaper than yobaby too.

i also find that he likes any cheese shredded up.  much more messy but must be more fun!

I just found the best cheese.  It's yogurt cheese from Trader Joes and it's slices like deli cheese.  It is so yummy and has the live cultures like yogurt.  It tastes kind of like havarti, a little sharper, very good!

For yogurt we do either Stonyfield Farm Whole Milk Plain (organic) or sometimes for a treat the French Vanilla.  (I avoid YoBaby as it is loaded with sugar.)  Or if the budget is tight that week we'll do Dannon Natural Whole Milk Plain (not organic but does not contain anything except milk - no sugar or additives)

For cheese we just get whatever's on sale.  I'd love to do organic but our grocery budget is about $90 per week and organic milk here in our city is twice as much as regular.  I hate thinking of the hormones, antibiotics, etc but I have to balance that against her (and me being pregnant) getting enough veggies, variety, etc.

Thanks Lyn and EllenS, I must try the yoghurt cheese from TJ - ,maybe for my self ;)

EllenS - not sure if you have a Trader Jo's around you but if you do, their organic milk is much cheaper than the other stores...

Wish we did, my bro and SIL get stuff from there it's great.  Not one in the city and we don't have a car.

What kind of container does the Trader Joes Organic Milk come in?  I am not a fan of plastic.  May I ask the price?  Wondering if it is cheaper than Oberweiss.

EllenS - I understand what it is like to live in the city and not have a car - - or be afraid to move it for fear of losing a parking space  ;) but have you looked recently at the locations?  There are a few in Chicago.  Maybe one might be worth a bus ride.
