Hi everyone.  I followed y'all over here from Angela's other thread.  I'll be keeping up with you here, since my DS is about the same age (and btw, he slept through the night for the first time ever last night after weeks of help on this board!)

yaaay a2mom!! hi!!!

Well, we didn't make it in time. :(  It's a 20-25 minute drive from MIL's.  I left right after dessert, got home, bathed her (I had everything ready) and gave her milk.  She was in bed at 3h8min of A time, but she was already OT and OS.  She could not sleep!  Rolled around, thrashing and crawling and sitting and a little crying...I felt so bad for her, I went in and cuddled with her for 10 minutes so she would calm down.  She didn't fall asleep on me though - rolled around some more and then sleep, so she had about 3.5h of A time in total.  I knew it when she started yawning right before I left MIL's.  Ah well.  I hope tonight isn't too bad.  She did have quite a bit of A time so I don't expect any restless 1+ hour NWs...more like a couple NWs where she needs a bit of patting and getting unstuck.  *fingers crossed*

Natalie - the Mission Impossible theme was in my head on the drive home ;)

<hugs> Angela hope your night was ok. Theres always going to be times when you can't stick exactly to it. Maybe next time give the bath a miss? although I almost never miss her bath because i like to think it helps relax her although I'm not sure whom it relaxes more her or me thinking it will help her STTN!

Yay A2mom!

Not a good night - she was up from 2:30ish until maybe 4:30??  Could not settle down, crying a few times, thrashing and rolling and banging a lot too, a few quiet periods.  She didn't wake shortly after bedtime so does that mean she was not OT?  I don't understand.

Enna - we always do bath no matter what time, even if it's just a quick one...I feel like it's an essential part of her routine. :)

Huge Hugs Angela - I hope you are able to get back on track today. What time was wake up today?

I know with the time difference this isn't really true, but it's funny to think that an hour after you got her back to bed we were up for the day :)
5:30 waking again this morning. This time I KNOW he did not go back to sleep. So I put him down a little after 3 hours A time, even though it wasn't nine yet. After yesterday was such a disaster. I got a cat nap in 3 days in a row after only having one nap and we just had our 3rd 5:30 wake up, so I feel like they are related. So even if we have another day of him only taking 1 mid day nap I don't think I"m going to waste a bunch of gas driving him around so that he goes to sleep??

Heh Sherry.  I just looked to see where you are and I think we may be in the same time zone (I'm in Canada, Eastern Standard Time). :)  So were you doing two naps then?  A long one in the morning and then a catnap in the afternoon?  I wonder if you just gave him an early bedtime, no catnap (although I know it would mean he'd be up for a loooong time), would you get the EW?  If Lyle could tough it out for one day, then you'd get back to the routine you were on before?

Today for sure I will get her into bed by 3h max at night.  We're not planning on going anywhere.  X starts school tomorrow (yay! ;D).

Hey Ang you are right, we are on the same time. I thought you were in the same time zone as Jen.

I'm not purposefully doing this. He is just deciding to boycott naps these days. We had a really rough time of it last week. Then DH was home for 3 days and Lyle went down well (figures right :)
Then we were back to the nonsense these last couple of days. But I made sure I didn't fall back asleep this morning to see if he went back down or not. And he did not.

Last week when he only took one nap the wake ups the next morning varied A LOT. I got a 13 hour night once that week out of him :)  But then I got a 10.5. Both weeks bedtime has been a bear.

So hopefully today will be two naps, but even still they will end early - early in the day. Oh well... can only hope for the best right.

YAY for school starting. Is that going to mess up your routine again. I know last spring it was hard sometimes. Or does it work out well now with a short nap in the AM?

Angela,

see how you get on sticking to the 3 hour A before bed as it does seem to be the nights with a longer evening A that are the worst.  TBH I wouldn't worry about the OT/OS and before midnight waking stuff ... it doesn't seem to apply to Z ATM whereas there does seem to be a connection between the 230/4 waking and the longer last A time.  Does that make sense?!

What are you doing just now for naps and EASY?

I'm trying to extend her A times just a little but I really don't know what exact time she wakes up in the morning so I guess.  So yesterday she cried a little when put down for her morning nap which meant a tad OT.  I'm trying 3h 10-15 minutes for 1st and 2nd A time, 50 minutes for nap #1, and 1h 30-40 minutes for nap #2, and aiming for 3h last A time before bed (but not being very successful :P).

Today I heard noises at 7:27am, she was down for nap at 10:35 and asleep by 10:40, and DH woke her at 11:30am.  I will probably put her down for her afternoon nap at 2:40pm. :)

Okay tonight was bad again :(

Today was:
wake 7:27am
nap #1 10:40-11:30am
nap #2 2:40-4:20pm
in bed 7:20pm - would not sleep!  crying, sitting up, crying, rolling around, agitated, unsettled, you name it, she was it, finally got her to sleep with patting/rubbing her back at 8:20pm :(

So...what should I do?  2.5 or 2.75h of A time before bed tomorrow?  Let her sleep longer for her 2nd nap?  I'm so irritated!  >:( >:(

Me again.  As I expected, our night was not good.  Needed settling at 10:45 and around 5am.  I know she was awake a few times in between, but settled herself.  Woke up at 6am and DH went in to try and settle her, in the end she went back to sleep herself.  Woke for the day at 7am.

I may let her have a slightly longer nap, maybe 1h45 or 1h50min, since I'm not sure I would be able to get her into bed before 7pm.  I'm still thinking about shortening her last A time even more - maybe to 2.75h?
