20 month old--1.15 naps--how to extend????
« on: August 29, 2008, 01:29:51 am »
It is me again  :P  My 20 month old is recovering from being OT.
As posted before, fix nap and bedtime did not work for her...it made her OT.
I have been doing awake times now 5.5/5.5.
However, she has done 1.15 naps and today 1 hour????
Is she still recovering from OT with 1.15 naps?
Frustrated to say the least.
Anyone know?? Thank you!

siria i have found that L can do less A time in the afternoon.  some other people are the opposite.  maybe don't do an even split?  esp with a short nap.  I do go by the clock now, not A times. just a suggestion...

here is our routine (been like it a while now)

6.30 wake
12 nap - sometimes 1.15, sometimes 2hrs.
bed, asleep by 7.

if a few days of short naps, i will do 6.30 bedtime.

hth!
Aleesa.....

Hi Aly!
Mari is almost caught up with being OT from attempt to fix nap of 12.30 and 7.30 BT...did not work....led to very OT.
So I went back to the same schedule- identical to Lily's.
But like you, I get 1.15 min naps.  However, she sleep over 11 hours so maybe that is all she needs.

Yaya: thanks for suggestion!  I have tried shorter A times than 5.5, but she is not tired enough and will toss and turn.  She sleeps over 11 hours so maybe she is fine with 1.15 min nap???
She got into OT cycle when I was doing over 6 hours awake time in morning because was trying to fix her nap and bedtime--did not work!
Anyways, I haven't done anything to extend naps to be honest?  What do you suggest?
THANKS!!!

Siria, when L wakes after 1.15 she is happy, so I don't worry too much.  Others get the same at night and 3hr naps - all kiddos are different.
