Ready-Bed (blow up bed)
« on: September 04, 2008, 13:06:02 pm »
So, our 3 yr old DD, Katie, has a blow-up 'Ready-Bed' that is like a blow up mattress with the sleeping bag part that goes over the whole mattress (really quite good). She got this so she could stay at her cousin's overnight easily and vice versa.

Anyway, she currently has the ready bed blown up in her room for her toys to sleep in. We still get the odd NW at maybe 3 or 4 am (maybe for, like, 2 mins), but last night she decided to sleep in the ready bed rather than her proper bed and had what is probably the best night's sleep she has had in ages (12.5 hours, not a peep!).

My Q - is sleeping on a blow up mattress bad for joints / back etc if you sleep on it for, say, longer-term? Just wondering, in case she decides to adopt the ready bed in the long run..... what precautions should I take? i.e. how 'firm' should the blow up bit be?

Sorry for silly questions, was just wondering... (certainly not complaining about a good night's sleep for all!!).

TIA

So, like, maybe till she is 20 years old?! Haha!

She is soooo sweet if she wakes in the night - she tip-toes through to our room and then says 'mummy, will you please come through and snuggle in with me?'. How can I resist? (plus I pretty much sleep-walk her back to bed, so find it impossible to break the 'habit').
