Yes, I am our routine does need a tweak. This is the THRD phase of EW's we are dealing with since she was 6 months old. UGH!
Every time her A times take a jump, we end up with EW.
I am going to try to re-arrange her naps today to get in two, and move towards a later bedtime. We do well with one nap a day - if and only if she wakes later in the day, and often on those days have only an 11 - 11.5 hr day.
I teach a fitness class on Thursday mornings and I just came home and she is happily playing with her dad. I literally walked into her giggling! 4:30am and she's happy. Sigh......
At least she slept 10.5 hours without a peep. I'll try again today!

Ugh @ EW's

Yup, moving between longer and shorter days is really common with the 2-1.

Good luck for today x

I know - not a fan of the EW! DD did it during the 3-2 nap switch, and I had to re-arrange her naps and her bedtime. It took about 10 days.

Then the 2-1 nap switch started and we got more EW. This whole 2-1 nap thing has going on now for 6 weeks so far. I re-arranged her naps again - waking her from her am nap to get a pm nap, and it worked for a while, but then she started to refuse her pm nap no matter what. So I let her sleep for her am nap, and got a catnap in the stroller or car at the end of the day. Then the EW started again, because she stopped the catnap. UGH.
So I am back to waking her from her am nap to get in a pm nap. It worked today. I woke her after 50 min this morning, and she slept 1 hr 15 min this afternoon waking at 3:50pm. We put her to bed at 7pm. I know she could have made it to 7:30pm, but since she was up so early, I did not want to extend her day any longer.

We'll see what happens tonight and tomorrow morning.......

Thanks for your help!

LOL @ the constant juggling!!!

We just recently had to switch the short AM, long PM naps for long PM short AM due to DD1's school pickup.  Then DD2 started refusing PM nap so I'm having to judge whether to do one long nap (and pray it is long enough) and early bed or an 'inbetween' AM nap and hope for a catnap! The joys!!

Hope you have a good night x

Ha! Yes, it is constant juggling. Looks like you are doing it too!

DD slept til 5:45am - so progress in the right direction. Today I am going to have to wake her after 30 min into her am nap to get a pm nap. Can I tell you that I HATE waking her? It make me feel just awful. And of course then I am a wreck wondering how her pm nap will go.
Otherwise I can let her sleep and pray for a catnap at the end of the day.
I am not sure which is the lesser of 2 evils!

Great news on the night :)

I am not sure which is the lesser of 2 evils!

No me either.  Once she sleeps past about 1 hr 45 mins I can't get her to catnap.  But I worry that if I let her sleep on she won't sleep long enough to last til bedtime and if i wake her she won't sleep again anyway!

Wishing you lots of luck!! Glad you have cracked the NW's though :D

Good luck to you too!

We have company coming today, so I am going to let her sleep and pray for a catnap later in the day. Otherwise if I do it the other way around today, they'll be arriving about 1 hour before her second nap and I am not sure she'll go down or stay down because she will be too excited.
I guess the worst that is going to happen is we'll put her to bed at 6pm and get an EW (at least I think that is the worst right now)!

They are going to call me again to let me know when they are getting close, so I'll plan her naps accordingly. Hopefully DD will cooperate!

Well she slept 6:40pm to 5:20am. UGH. What happened to our 11+ hours a night!? Why would she stop this wonderful behavior?! :( I am going to try for a few more days the short am nap and the longer pm nap. I don't think I have it quite figured out yet.
I had this problem before - not being able to figure out her day with a short am nap, but I'll give it a go one more time. I know it takes a few days for things to sort out.....?
Hope your might went well too.

Hi again. DD rolled over ,ore than 10 times last night between 8 and 11pm. By time 11 pm came along she was so OT fro waking soooo much that it took me until 1:30am to get her to go back to sleep.
She could not seem to settle herself at all when she rolled over onto her belly. I have been doing belly time with her during the day as well as practicing rolling.
I put rolled up towels under her sheets to prevent my LO from rolling, but I think it only made her bed feel foreign to her - it seemed to make it worse. She did finally fall asleep with them, but woke this morning on her belly anyways.
I have not found any sleeping bags that I can tuck into the crib. None of the seem to be long enough.
I don't know what to do and I'm beyond exhausted!!!!!

Day naps and routine are good?  NW's are purely due to rolling around?

I wish I knew. There is so much going on at this age, but we had no problems with our routine until the rolling started.....  :'(
I put her down for a nap and 3 minutes into it she woke crying - on her belly! I finally just nursed her to sleep. I'll take her for a car ride later - just to get some sleep in! She was awake for 5 hours in the middle of the night just rolling and crying. I don't know what to do!

Of course - thanks. No props (no paci, uses a lovie though).

6:30am - wake and BF
8:00am - solids
9:45am - snack
10:30-noon - sleep
12:15pm - BF
2:00pm - solids
3:00pm - snack
4:15 - 4:45pm - catnap
6:15pm - bath, final feed
7:00pm - bed

DH was able to get her to take a second nap today in her crib, and we had to wake her after 2 hours, and it was 5:15pm! Still putting her to bed at 7pm because she had SO little sleep last night.

Thanks!
