occassionally sleeping through the night
« on: September 20, 2008, 16:04:59 pm »
our lo is 12 weeks on monday, and since 9 weeks, she has occassionally slept through the night...yeah! i am just wondering if i should help her go back to sleep or just feed her? she eats for 10 min is is asleep again. it is not at the same time, and i think she is hungry, but why some nights and not others? she is on 3.5 hour easy, goes to bed at 7:00 DF at 10:00 sleeps till 6:45ish with one waking.

thanks for your thoughts, nilly

DF plus one night feed is pretty typical for a 3 month old I would say.   Lots of babies begin to miss a night feed on occasion before they drop it completely :) DD1 did this :D

Have you noticed any correlation between her day feeds and STTN?  ie does she have  better day feeds when she sleeps all night.

Have you tried to resettle her without offering a feed?  You could try to resettle without feeding using pat/shh or offering paci/dummy instead and see how she goes.  If she settles then great :).  If she settles then wakes again looking for food or doesn't settle at all then you'll know she is still hungry :)
