Afraid ateething will mess everything up!!
« on: September 20, 2008, 21:16:12 pm »
Hi there
My DS is 20 weeks today, is in a fab  EASY routine, is an angel baby and we are really enjoying him, he is our 1st baby.

He is currently teething and from the look of his gums I expect some teeth to make an appearance any day now. This evening and tonight he has become very congested, sneezing a lot, dribbling lots and lots, and over the past few days too, the only thing is this eve I had to use a slight bit od nasal solution to help clear his nose as he uses a paci to go to sleep.

Has anyone any tips on how to make him more comfortable? He was very irritated going to sleep, normally we just pop him into his cot, maybe go in and pu/pd once or twice and he sttn, this eve however I had to hold him long after he had actually fallen asleep as he was REALLY REALLY out of sorts. I am so afraid this little"cold", even though its not really even one just a product ot teething, will mess up all our hard work.....

Any and all advice and tips welcome

Thanks ladies

Hiya

If you suspect teething then I would give him some meds before bedtime and again on the first NW.  We also use topical gel and homeopathic powders for teething. Lots of babies do have runny noses when teething so it's possibly what you are seeing right now.

The key is really to offer lots of comfort and extra cuddles to soothe babies when they are in pain/poorly whilst trying to stick to your own routine/techniques as much as you can :)
