We are moving house in 2 weeks time and I just need some ideas to make the transition into a new house and new room smooth for my 1yr old.  I don't want him to be scared by the change and his perfect sleeping behaviours to fall apart because of it.

I would say that keep it as similar to his routine as possible. And room as similar as possible.
Though at the end , you never really know how will he react.

I know it's not the same but when we are away we make sure DD's cot is as like at home as pos, same loveys, sheets etc, I think their cots make them feel safe and at home, it may be the disruption of the change as a whole that disrupts sleep rather than just their bedroom but as PP said by sticking to his present routine as much as pos will help, I hope it goes smoothly for you  :)
