I am at the end of my rope. Please help/advice etc please!

Abbi has turned into a NIGHTMARE when going down for sleeps.

She has always slept with a dummy, no probs.  Now when I put her in the cot she screams and cries as I am lowering her down. Then she repeatly throws the dummy from the cot, then screams for it, and then repeat, we are now on number 21 pick up.  I dont give her any attention, just put it back in the cot and walk out again.  I am now so angry and frustrated I am not going back up for a few mins, need a breather.  Its not that shes fussing, shes SCREAMING AND SCREAMING, and when she throws the dummy out she calls and calls for it. Shes now screaming mummy sooooooooooo loud. Whats wrong with her

Routine is wake 6:45ish, nap 11:30 - 1:30, bed 6:45pm

HUGS!!! I'm not sure I have any advice for you, but hope others will. Have you tried telling her that you will only pick up her lovey one time and then sticking to that -- saying if the dummy goes onto the floor, it has to stay there?

Just a thought - is she tired enough for her nap? My LO is awake about 6.30 and goes down around 12 so 5.5 ish hours of A. Looks like Abbie has a bit less than 5 hours - have you tried extending her A a bit?

Hi Laura, with the nap, she goes down a little better, maybe 10 mins of screaming which isnt tooooo bad. She is rubbing her eyes and moaning and crying by about 11:15. I tried a 12pm sleep a couple of weeks ago and she only slept like 30-45 mins each time I should have clarified that its mostly nights that are a NIGHTMARE HELL ZONE LOL............ weve picked up the dummy 30 times now, and I have gave up and put it on a clip, shes still screaming.  She was up at 5:30 today screaming which is odd for her........ so I tried a 6:45 bedtime to try and combat OT as she was rubbing her eyes

CCG01, thanks for that, she doesnt seem to "get" it as yet, and just works herself up into a complete state!

Stacey, no I meant, when I go to put her down in the cot for the night she starts screaming then, I dont do PU/PD jesus, my back would break, I never pick her up as I know she would be just doing that over and over!!!!! I am now doing WI/WO........... not working. GW is one thing I dont want to do as I know she would just cry for cuddles......

Oh and she shares a room with DS! Who has not woke throughout it all, what a blooming star!!!! Shes finally accepted she cant get the dummy off the clip now and has gone quiet. But I dont want all the screaming, its horrid, she was coughing and heaving etc etc

Hi Laura and Zoey she has been very moany and clingy at times during the day, then switches to big smiles, and just gets gradually worse with bedtime each day, this has been going on for a week or more maybe, but not to this extent.  I thought she was getting the pox, but nothing , last ear infection she just slept and cried when laid down full stop, whereas I have changed her bum laying down etc with no problem She was all smiles going to bed, waving to the cat, dog etc, swigging her milk, seemed in a great mood! Had a cold a week or so back. hmmmmm teeth, she had her eye teeth come through couple of weeks ago.  
Its like she wants to see me.......... the other night when it happened I DID pick her up, as had been nearly an hour and wanted to cry and she basically went silent and crashed on my shoulder.

Just to add, I usually have a "feeling" when shes really rough, and can see no signs of outward illness, except for being cuddly and a bit moany, but she is very touchy anyways.

Shall I try GW for a bit?  Am scared she will get worse with me in the room.

Maybe Ill just get her an MOT at the docs, just in case, and if she is sick, I will be so gutted, as I am normally so switched on to her!

Oh and last time she fell over all the time, and screamed ALL holiday long and slept a lot............... thats why I am a bit hmmmmmmmmmmmmm as shes basically just whinging like when a babies tired all day kwim?

I was also thinking about GW. Maybe try sitting there next to her not saying anything. I've had to do that a few times w/DS and am usually able to ease out of it gradually in a relatively short span of days.

I might just try that you know, kinda fills me with dread though lol. Got docs app at 4:40 tomorrow, gonna rule out medical prob first then go for some sleep training if all ok

I think I would stick with WI/WO since you've never had a sleep problem with Abbi. If you do GW she might start getting use to having you in the room and that would cause new problems and you don't need that
