My DS is  9 months old and he is waking up like twice or thrice at night, he is wide awake sometimes chatting away and ready to play, at other times he is just standing there and sucking his thumb. he is in his cot and in our room still.
He has never been a gr8 napper but we get 1 hr these days or somedays multiple 30-45mins nap.
I am a full time working mom , my mom looks after him for me during the day so i have very liittle control over his day time nap anyhow.
here is our routine, i think it needs  a tweak cos my son is not sleeping through the night but he i know he can cos when he wakes up i give him very little water and in no time he is fast asleep sometimes we go through 2 0r 3 night wakings.
I get really tired so i just bring into bed with me and we both sleep for long and i end up going late to work  ;D
our routine since he was 6 months is
7.00-8 B/FAST CEREAL
8-8.30 Formula about 6 0z
9.30 nap sometime 30-1hr
11-12 Lunch
11.30-12.30 formula 6/70z
1pm nap 30mins -1hr
3-4 tea and yoghurt or milk 50z
5-6 Diner  custard or fruit or veggies
7.30-8pm bath, massage, story/singing and 8/9oz formula and sleep
Thanks a bunch for ur replies!

Hi there!

Well my guess would be that he needs longer A times - those A times sound more appropriate for a 6 month old. However 30 min naps suggest OT or overstimulated - so I am a little confused. How often do you get 30 min naps and does he wake up happy or cross?  What is a typical nap length - there is a big difference between 30 mins and 1hr in terms of working out what is going on.  Then his last A time is WAYYYYY long for his age.   What time is he actually asleep for the night?

Have you looked at the typical routines for his age on the EASY board?    I agree that he would probably do better with a routine tweak - but am trying to get my head around which way you need to go.  If you can let me know more about the nap lengths (do you log them?) I will have a think!

thanks!

As I said, I would suggest logging the nap lengths - 30 min naps mean over tired or overstimulated, which is the easiest thing to solve - 45 min naps can mean OT or UT - a longer nap means you've got it about right!  You can then work out what A times suit him best
