Good Luck. I think a 1 pm nap time would be perfect with the later wake up, but with the earlier one you need to go just a bit earlier. Your bed time sounds good with a 3 pm wake up. Ours is 7.20 ish with a 2.40 or 2.30 wake up. Dont you hate EW, have been having them now for oh.... 10 months !!!!!!!

I am amazed!  DS slept for 2:45 minutes today for his nap!  I think he would have continued sleeping, but I normally don't let his nap go past 3 to keep bedtime as normal as possible.  We did go for a 7:45 bedtime though....we'll see how it works out.

Praying for a 7:30 wakeup time!

ugh...no luck!  We had a restless night starting at about 12:15 and lasted till 2 when we ended WIWO.  DH thought DS's gums were swollen where the las tmolar would be coming in....we'll see, but DS woke at 6:30.  So, again about 10.5 hour night  :(

We'll see how the nap goes today....we're sticking with a 7:45 bedtime though fo r a few more nights to see if he can adjust.

We had a great day yesterday and then a wonderful night (no NW's or EWs)  In fact I had to wake DS at 7:20 since we had a Dr's appt!  I put DS down a little too early though (since he woke at 7:20, he wasn't ready for a nap at 1 just yet).  While he went right down, he only slept till 2:40....

I was planning at 7:10 bedtime....although DH thought we should stay with 7:30.  Needless to say, DS had a rough time going down until about 7:45.  DH has learned! (thank God!)  Still praying for a wonderful wake up time in the am though (7 would be perfect!).  How are you doing Michelle?  Haven't heard from you in a while.

Well...I think I need hugs more than anything right now, but all the advice is welcome too!

DS for the past 2 nights has had NW's.  I'm curious if it's teeth again, but I'm not seeing any signs during the day yet.  DH is driving me insane with WIWO....he so dang inconsistant.  I've tried everything to get him on board, so it's just mean dealing with this.  He's been up for almost an hour now!  Yesterday he slept till 7:15ish, but was still tired from the 2 hours of being up in the middle of the night.  I KNOW that he was not OT to begin this...but now I'm sure he's OT.

An update from last night.....close to 4 hours of him being up last night!  4 HOURS.  I don't know if I should laugh or cry....I do know that I would LOVE a huge spiked drink right now.

Thankfully, my mom is in town and took over and rocked him down to sleep.  I have NO CLUE what is bothering him.  The only thing I can think is that there is no consistancy at this point between DH and I.  DH is being the softy now....what's up with that?  He doesn't want to be too "mean" as he calls it.

I do have a question....when doing WIWO do you lay your LO down when you go in.  Ig uess DS is so used to being picked up (thanks DH!), that he doesn't lay down for us anymore.  So last night I was laying him down when I walked in each time and then walked right out.

Ugh I dred night time this week!

sorry I've been MIA - my folks are here for Thanksgiving, so I'm not on much.  So sorry to hear about the nightmare NWs.....I'm guessing it could be teething combined with inconsistency between dh and you.  With wi/wo - we usually tell Abby to lay down and if she doesn't, then we lay her down.  Most of the time, she will lay down if we tell her, but if not, then we lay  her down.  Hopefully tonight will be better.  It's amazing to me how fast they unlearn all that sleep training.....{{{{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}}}

Sure enough...I can feel that last molar making headway.  Hopefully though it'll come through today, not tonight!  ;)  We are doing a 15 min nap right now.  He was so tired, but it's way too early for his "nap" if we want him to go to bed as usual.  So, hopefully we wont screw up getting his normal nap out of him.

Have a Happy Thanksgiving.  It's sleepless night like these that make you thankful for the nights LO's STTN!  ;)

I know it doesn't help much but we also had some of those long NW's with the molars.  I think it just must do that for some lo's.  If it helps any, Abby's are all thru and she has settled down with that now (of course now she'll be up tonight, lol!).  I hope things are going better there now.  The bummer is, I hear the eyeteeth are worse, good times, good times...

I hear that too about the eyeteeth.  :(

DH found a few bites on DS's leg and foot which turned out to be ant bites.  Somehow it got into his footed PJ's and bit DS that night of the horrid NW!  So, not only was his tooth moving around, but he also had these bites that we knew NOTHING about!  We felt horrible the next morning.

We had a great nap yesterday and today and a much needed wonderful night last night.  We're hoping for a great night again tonight.

DH update....he's back to reading BW forums again!  YIPPEE...I think he retains info when he needs it and then when he doesn't he "forgets" what he needs!  So we're back to a great plan and hope that we NEVER have to use it!  ;)

Also, thanks Michelle about laying the LO back down. I think the other night ended up being such a HUGE exception as I stated about.  But I do'nt mind laying DS back down if I have to.

Have a great weekend ladies....thanks for your support!

Did your LO ever go through SA?  I think Cooper might be at that stage right now...YIPPEE!!! We had a NW last night which took about 1.5 hrs to get back down.  Tonight he's been upset for over an hour.  WIWO doesn't seem to help at all....it only makes him more upset.

How do you get through SA?

Abby did - but early - like 7 mos old, and nothing really since - not at night anyway.  Here's a thread on SA that is really helpful:  http://babywhispererforums.com/index.php?topic=84719.0

We have never had much SA and the most we have had has been recently, it has been very mild though so not affecting sleep.

That is so sad about those bugbites!!  We have had 4 hr NW once or twice recently and it is just horrible.  Usually by the 3rd hour I strip her down and inspect.  I had heard that story of the baby with a thread wrapped around her toe and it was cutting off the circulation.  We also get long NW here, its not often but usually 1.5-3 hrs when she does.  I haven't met many other people whose babies do that.  Have you found anything that helps??  We usually end up doing wi/wo but at the beginning we always think that something is really bothering her so we stay with her.  That is probably part of our problem.  My husband tends to be a softy and doesn't like leaving her in there, lol!

Once Cooper was down last night (after DH rocked him out of desperation), he slept solid but woke early (6 am).  So I think it's a combo of SA and teeth.  I've already drugged him up ;) on pain meds for the teeth so we're hoping for an easy sleep night.  DH is in there right now reading to him and then will put him down.

Aileen....my DH is a softy too.  I guess I have toughened up a bit since I'm with him 24/7 so I know when DS's just testing the limits.  When DS has a NW, we normally go in first and check to see if anything is out of the ordinary (leaking diaper, illness, teeth) and then if nothing is found to be out of the ordinary, we begin WIWO.  Lately we have not had HUGE success with WIWO when DS is really worked up.  We seem to go through stages of long NW's and then we go through nights with no NW's.

Well DS is crying now....off to figure out the night!
