I didn't think Lois was ready, but I'd rather have her running about at night for a while than see her face full of blood again. Sometimes we're just forced to take quick decisions. I had planned to read up on big bed transitions first too :P
Lois used to be in a Grobag til she was 18 mo, but she figured out how to unzip all 3 different fastenings we had them in and just wouldn't keep it on so we were forced, there too, to change to a duvet. Been no problems although I would have prefered her in the grobag as she wouldn't be able to climb out then.
Well, nearly time for nap so we'll se how that goes...

Glad the night went well Vick! Charlie is spirited and like Liv, so far, has NOT gotten out of her BGB....I'm guessing it's just the illusion of the side rail, and the idea of bed that keeps her in.

Can't wait to see how beautiful she is sleeping like a "baby" in a "big" bed!

Not been able to get a piccie yet (I promised I would on another thread) but will try tomorrow. Maybe the morning is a good time...
Great to hear that two spirited girls have done so well :) Hope mine will continue like this, she just took a little longer going to sleep, but no walking around or crying. She seems proud of her new bed 'like big girls sleep in' ;D

How is she napping in her bed Vick? It is great to hear of smooth transitions, I am dreading it and we are trying to wait until she is 3!! I got a great tip from someone on the boards for any of you that have a LO taking their grobag off, put it on inside out, it works great though Leorah still manages to squeeze her arms thrugh the neck hole  :P

I can't wait to see a pic, I bet she looks like a little blonde angel  :D

Hi girls!
I've totally forgotten to update this thread. Tried taking some pictures, but our camera has broken and they turn out really weird! Might see if I can still upload them...
She is doing very well in her new bed :) She loves it as she's so independent and wants to be able to climb into bed herself. It's pretty amazing that she's not even coming out in the mornings :o She's been playing for a while with her books, puzzles and magic drawing board that she has on her bedside table, then when she wants to get up she shouts me. VERY loud! But that's good!! She's been as easy as usual to put to bed, no getting out or resistance at all. I wonder if she took to it so well cos she actually understood why she couldn't keep her cot. She knows the cot was no good cos she fell and hurt er nose. Still talks about it and points to her nose. Hasn't had any night mares though :)

Napping has been a bit harder for her although she still stays in there, but a few times she's not gone to sleep after even an hr and a half up there, just playing then calling me. Yesterday she was at my mum's during the day and napped on a mattres on the floor. Straight to sleep and napped for 1.5 hrs :o It might have helped that she got used to napping at nursery on a mattress???

Well, something should be easy at least, shouldn't it? Had a looong 2-1 transition, so glad this has been quick and easy!
Thanks for asking about us :-* :-*

Can I ask a few Qs  ;) Does she fidget much in the bed and does she keep the duvet on ok? Leorah still gets into all sorts of positions in her cot and I remember as a kid I would often wake the other end of my bed!

Katt, Charmaine and Layla- thanks for the compliments! Of course I think she's cute, but I'm biased ;D :P

Marie, that's so funny that your DD does that too! It must be a spirited thing. Katt, does Leorah do that too? Shout for you in the morning?

Oh, and no, she doesn't keep her duvet on always. I go tuck her in when she's gone to sleep, then again before I go to bed and often she doesn't have the duvet on. She sleeps through the night fine though so if she does kick it off again, she must put it back herself or not mind... She's started *mostly* keeping her head the right end now, but that's only recent, she used to be all over. I think since we stopped the grobag and started the duvet she had more sense of the directions in the cot. Makes sense really when you think about it... in a grobag it doesn't matter how you lie. I always feared the transition from Grobag to duvet, but as Lois just took them off all the time, she kind of forced that transition too, and it went absolutely fine.
