Hello - yes, it was teething - can see two top teeth coming through and she's eating better now (soft things) but suffered for a good few weeks with it. So relieved i know what it is. She even stole some toddler's chicken wing at a neighbour's barbecue the other day and chewed on it. Good girl. So the fun is now beginning - 5am starts, crying baby, 1.5 hrs to get back to sleep, 8.20am starts, EASY all over, but at least she's eating and a wee bit happier. Thanks again for the support

A happy baby=a happy mummy! Obviously there are times when she has to suffer, but that should be the exception.

I totally agree.

Just wanted to ask, when you say you put bread into stews and things, didn't that make it go to mush. When I give Lola some toast, once she's chomped on it, it's like a piece of floppy mush that slops around the tray. It's a bit of a silly question but thought I might be missing something.

Thanks, Sophie

I would use the crust, chunky enough so it doesn't go soggy and drain as much of the juice out of the stew so she mostly had meat and veggies!

Hi ya - bread in stews - it can help to use day old bread too as it holds its shape a little better.

We've just started with BLW and DS is still just testing, playing, tasting, not actually eating - A maybe dumb question - if I steam up some broccoli and carrot I know he's only going to play around with one or two pieces of each, is it ok to save half in the fridge for the next day?

I'm often wondering the same with the veg I give. I seem to have loads of different containers in the fridge with veg in and I end up not using any as I can't remember which one I should use. Think I need to start dating them and actually using them the next day, instead of making something different.

I totally do that... DS doesn't seem to care if the veg is cold or warm, so it works for us.  I also pre-cut veggies and stick them int he freezer so I can just pop them into the steamer at meals.  This doesn't work for all veggies, but it helps cut down on daily prep!

It's fine to reuse veggies the next day. The only thing you want to watch is that lo's saliva has not touched the food. I personally don't reuse ffs if ds has touched them with his hands as his fingers go into his mouth and I don't want bacteria transfered to the food. I found I was tossing out too much food so now I put down less on his tray- I prefer to add more food than to toss food.

That is so clever!

Agree - I read that saliva can make the left overs start to break down and all sorts of bacteria breeds.

We had a great day today! Its kind of the first time really that I felt that I relaxed with it all a bit more. I had him on my lap and he played/ate with carrot, broccoli, avocado on bread and peach...it was really fun!

DS had spaghetti squash for the first time yesterday... funny to watch him try to pick it up and stuff it in his mouth because it would be in clumps and then slowly fall apart as he got it nearer to his face.  He seemed so confused that his hands were practically empty by the time they reached him mouth :)

It's super cool- a yellow squash that, when cooked, breaks apart and has the stringy consitency of spaghetti.  You can sub it for pasta if you feel like extra veg and it's really mild.  Mmmmmm.
