Sorry I probably missed you, i always aired on the side of caution so I would probably have put her down for nap and bedtime at same time as day before, so yes I would of done that.

I think I was a little too cautious, put her down at 12:20pm, and she slept til 1:20pm  :P

This morning I started to hear her around 6am, but slept til 6:38am.

Is the earlier waking a sign of more A time?  Today I'm headed for a nap at 12:40pm, and bed at 6:40pm, at least for the next few days.  I guess at least she's now very consistent, right?

absolutly, I'd say that although your still moving routine on, she is getting really consistant and its not such a suprise to you when she takes a short nap  :)

I wouldn't want to say why she woke earlier yesterday, doesn't really have to have a reason I guess.  Thats what comes from over analysing  :P  Today you can't really count her stirring at 6am then continuing to sleep, could of been cold, heating, neighbours a cat... anything really  ??? fact is she didn't wake fully, thats all that counts.

Lily the other night cried out in the evening, she cried out quite loud then called mummy enough times that I thought I'd better go up and settle her down.  When I got in her room she was actually not even really awake, just stirring and shifting position in bed and stuff.  she even called out for me while I stood right there.  I crept back out and she was none the wiser I'd even been there.  So it goes to show sometimes you might think they have woke up but actually really they haven't   ;)

I think I may need to start a new thread, since Nik you're the only one still reading here!

She napped yesterday for ... 33 mins.  I managed to extend another 20 mins (she actually lied down when I went in and put herself b2s).  I did bedtime about 20 mins earlier, 6:20pm, and she slept til 7:05am.  OT, no?

So now I'm planning on bringing nap back 15 mins and bedtime back to 6:15pm again for a few nights.

Why oh why can't she take a nice long nap like most others her age???

I'm still here! I have been so busy with work, but I read every day, just no time to reply!

I have no advice for you, just big ((HUGS))!It must be so hard for you. Especially since it has been goig on for so long.

What has been working for us (*anti jinx, anti jinx*) is going by the clock. I know it doesn't work for everyone, but so far, it is working for us. I just got so fed up of chasing his A time, iykwim? So I set bedtime and naptime and things are pretty good. I am going to post my success in my old post. Hang in there!

i'm sorry if I offend but after a 12.5hr night a long nap (2hr or so) maybe too much to ask.  When dd first went to one nap, it was decent (1-1.5hr) then it slowly got longer but her night sleep also got shorter.  She was averaging 13-13.5 hrs total.  A friend's dd (23 mos) sleeps 2.5 hrs naps but her nights are about 9-10hrs.  I think that you have to find the routine that works for both of you.

:)

I don't think she was OT, don't know why the short nap that day, but she does like to throw them in every so often, or at least 1 a week.  But she then extended her night sleep to make up for the short/disturbed nap.

Seriously honey, forget the long nap's your just not going to get them so until she gets older containing OT will always be on the cards due to short naps. BUT she takes good long nights to compensate, this is what works for her sleep wise, as no matter what you try this is the result.  SO just let go and relax with it.  As she woke so late today don't bring nap too early, in fact I would push forward to keep longer A time, same goes for bedtime.

Mimi*- not offended at all.  Honestly, I'm not looking for a nap of 2 hours, but 1.5 hours would be manageable, ifykwim.

Nik- you know I can't relax and just go with it.  But the shorter her naps get (today was 40 mins) the more obsessed I become.  1 hour i can work with, but less than that makes me crazy!

bedtime around 6:40pm tonight...

Hi Leslie, have you tried shortening Madeline's night so you have more nap? I'm sure you have but I thought I'd mention it as it worked for us, I have cut Leorah's night back to 12 hours and I now have to wake her from her nap most days at 2 hrs though she finally has molars coming so that may be why she is napping so long. At least she is not NWing anymore  :)
