good morning all,

here is how yesterday went
wake-up 4:30
nap 1 8:50-9:20
nap 2 2-3:30
sleep 7:45
and this morning wake-up was at 5:15 and I managed to get him back to bed for another 15 minutes.

We had a NW as well but I will probably deal with that once the wake-up is sorted out.

Form 5:30-6:15 I was asked to lie down by DS in his cotbed - a bit of a squeeze and he waned to smother me with his face and lovey and so on. Not sure if I did right or wrong but at least I didn't let him come to our bed which is one of his major issues with NW.

So I think it went better and the key is to control daytime sleep.

Since wake-up was abt 5:15/30 I will aim to avoid a daytime nap and just let him have 1 decent 1.5 hr nap...any thoughts? advise?

Thanks a ton ladies your advise and wishes and I am filled with hope again.

 ;D

If you can just do the one nap, that woudl be good.  I think it was fine you lay with him, like you say better than coming to your bed.

Fingers crossed for a 2 hour nap for ya!  ;)

A x

If he goes earlier like 12 then 2 would be good.  I think for this age, 2 is fab if you can get it.

absolutely Vicku.

nap was good but only 1.5hr he woke up of his own accord at 1:30 but slept without even a whimper and no stirring, so I am thinking maybe he is moving towrads a slightly longer a time.

Morning he woke at 5:30 and I put him to bed at noon but he was probably ready around 11:30/11:45. So that makes it 6hrs A time. Tonight I will try and keep sleep time at 7:30 and see how the night goes.

thanks for checking in on me Vicku.

ladies let me know if you think I should move his bedtime up.

If you mean if you should move it later, then I'd say wait til you've got a later wake up, and solid naps. I'd stay with this for a little while to let the one nap stabilise and see what kind of wake ups you get.

I better go to bed now. Am still unwell :( but got to work again tomorrow...
Fingers crossed for you!! :-*

I would aim for 7pm bed.  I found 5.5 to bed was our sweet spot.

I do agree we found DD could handle more A time in am than pm. If pm A got too long at that age, she'd be OT and sleep worse. Right I AM off to bed now LOL

Exactly, I think everyone on here can agree that theory is thrown right out the window kwim? My DS wakes early if he goes to bed OT.

ladies you are so spot on its not even funny. Its 7:03 and DS is down and out hopefully till 6:30am...haha maybe I am hoping for too much.

All went well in the evening except DS did not have his usual milk before bed, I think he was sleepy and tired so lets hope hunger doe snot wake him up. DH was late form work so no resistance...could I have asked for an easier evening.

btw DS went out in less than 5 minutes so he was totally ready.

THANKS  :-* :-* :-* :-* :-*

sadly no Lis, It was the worst night ever. DS was up at 11 for a poo in the nappy *very rare* and then did nit go back to sleep till about 2/2:15 and only wanted to sleep on the floor on big cushions cuddled with me. So once he was fast asleep I put him back in his bed and he was up at 5 again. I resorted to AP and got him to our bed and he slept till 7.

today has been almost on schedule with him starting a nap at 12:20 and we woke him up at 2:30 so lets see how tonight goes. Will aim for a 7:30 sleep time,

I think DH cannot really sleep beyond 10 hrs at a time...can this be true?

I am totally shattered today and had a wisdom tooth extracted this morning so in great pain.. what a lovely life this is! NOT
