Wake 2 sleep question...please read and answer (quick)
« on: November 30, 2008, 15:45:33 pm »
My DS has consistent 4 am NW's.  I did W2S at 3:00 am one night and while I think I woke him too much he did go back to sleep and sleep through till 5:45 am.  I failed to do W2S the next night but he slept through 4am and instead got up at 5am.  The next night he was up at 4:15 and then last night I did W2S at 3:15 and he was up anyways at 4:30am.  My question is---his consistent 4 am wake up has faltered a tiny bit to 4:15 or even 5 that one day.  Should I still do W2S at 3 or move it a little later?

Also-how much to wake him?  Same as in the daytime, just touch him so he flinches or something?

And BW book says to do W2S an hour before a NW.  That's right, right?  I feel like I have read an hour and a half too.

Any expereinces with this working long term?

Thanks :)

Roused him at 3 last night and he was still up at 4:25.  I will keep trying.  Not sure if I should still go in at 3 or go in earlier or later maybe.  I remember 1.5 hrs and just read somewhere about someone who went in 15minutes earlier than LO's habitual wake up time in the middle of the night.  We'll see...
