Poor James.  It is a bugger to figure when to start reintroducing things.  I know that we had done three days in a row of just a bit of tomato from the garden, and then realized why the previous two nights were "you know what!"  Took them out and he was fine.  I haven't done much with citrus.  Either you, Natalie or Kirry, done much of that?

I also forgot to mention that I did try today w/o afternoon meds.  (Day 4 of the trial to reduce.)  The first two were fine.  Yesterday he woke crying at the 30 min mark, gave med-back to dreamland for the rest of a long nap.  So, in retrospect it "could" be that; trying to clear his throat with milk.  But he really was hungry, too. I think I will give afternoon med to see if there is a difference and try a little more food with snack time later.

I still haven't given citrus, too nervous about it.  Actually that is not true, he had a piece of lemon a couple weeks ago and love it!

Sorry things still aren't going well med free.  Do you think you will have to go to a GI?

Going to see when the pedi thinks we should.  I really don't want to do a scope.  We already have to put him under for his blocked tear duct in Jan.  My mom said I was VERY colicky.  Dh's history of esophagitis isn't promising either.  Likely he has a nice combo of our traits.

lol, I forgot about the lemon at the store.  :-)

jean, split lunch: havent done it yet but was thinking of just giving half his sandwich or half of what his main meal is before nap, rest after nap plus fruit.
citrus, we just did mandarine (clementines) last week. loves it and seemed fine. he doesnt like tomato so dont know if he is actually okay with it or not but tolerates it in cooking. mind you we are still on meds here too so who knows what he would be like off them.
he was a mess at 8mths when we moved to uk as took ages to get his meds made up over here. i know we've got to try it again soon but its a scary thought!
think we will get thru all the 12mth foods like cows milk, strawberries, etc etc before we try him off them again.

Excellent idea to wait Kirry.  Our mini trials here and there do not produce anything good signs for the long term.  It seems like the cumulative effect of not having the right amt of meds for a few days doesn't work.  We tried prior to the 12 mo check as the pedi suggested we do.  We did a small reduction leading  to one night w/o meds and he woke screaming about 2 hrs later.  Drink of water with meds, back to sleep for the rest of the night.  You wouldn't think it would make a difference, as the stomach acid has already been released.

Hi again!  With that molar coming through, today has been the first day in a while that he has eaten a bit more food.  Going to actually try to get a better measurement on what he is eating tomorrow.  We have been getting him out of the crib at about 6:30, which is getting us to a little later nap time (11:30).  He has been happy to doze in and out for an extra half hr and wait.  That is helping things not feel so scrunched, too.  You know now that I have said that, tomorrow morning he will be impatient, lol.

Still no sign of milk decreasing.  He loves his bottle; still having one before nap and before bed.  (Not feeding to sleep, of course.)
