Dropping the dreamfeed?
« on: December 10, 2008, 16:04:36 pm »
I couldn't find this topic in search so please excuse if it's been talked about before. Can anyone offer me advice on when to drop the dreamfeed and what signs to look for if you think your lo is ready? My ds is 7 months old and I just wanted some feedback when others dropped their dreamfeed.
Thanks!
Charlotte's mom. ;)

I'll recommend you to begin now or next month.
I did it with my eldest son when he was 8 months since
he was born premature baby and thank God it works well.
Now with God's help I'm going to do that with my twins
next month. In the book of Tracy Hogg "The Baby Whisperer"
solves all your problems she recommended around 7 months
and it has to be done in 3-day incrrements, to insure that your
baby makes up during the day what yor're taking away at night.
If you need more help you can send me e-mail and I'll happy to do that.

I too am interested in this.  I unfortunately have been very unsuccessful at getting rid of it.  My lo is 10 months now and still wakes up at 11 everynight and the only way to get him to settle is to feed him otherwise he is awake every 45 minutes from then on.  I first tried bringing it forward 15 min every 3 days for 2 weeks.  I got to 9:30 and then decided to try dropping it cold turkey.  That was a disaster!  Now after a month of an erratic schedule(he's also learning how to crawl)  I am back to where I started with the dream feed plus a 2 am waking that last 1-3 hours.  I think getting rid of the dreamfeed will solve many problems but I just can't seem to get rid of it.  I look forward to hearing what you have to say.
