Hello,
My 18 month daughter is very similar to Lisa's and has never been a good sleeper. She goes through stages of waking 6/7 times a night! I would like to train her to sleep by herself (at the moment i bottle feed her to sleep while holding her and she needs a bottle and me to fall back to sleep when she wakes). She will sleep a couple of hours during the day but has to be coaxed into staying asleep and it's not easy. She is a (very) spirited child - didn't need the test to know that!
I'd like to try the Gradual Removal method but not sure where to start as she currently falls asleep in my arms... how can i make the first steps? Any tips on making a plan would be most appreciated.
Thanks, Vicky
I am definately not an expert but I started by sleeping in Grace's room for three nights and then moved to just sitting next to her when she woke up until She was sleepy and then I moved gradually out of the room as she was falling asleep, every now and then she would open her eyes to see where I was but tbh in the end I think she just got fed up
. Sometimes I shushed her from outside the door. We still have some NW but I think that is because it has been so hectic over Christmas.
