Desperate for relief
« on: January 01, 2009, 06:48:47 am »
I have an 8 y/o, 5 y/o, and 1 y/o twins and I am so overwhelmed. My one year old son does not want to sleep through the night anymore. He has developed this piercing cry that tends to wake up his sister (we have a 3 bedroom house with 2 in each room) and then we are done for. I don't want to put him in bed with me, but I don't know what else to do. I am desperate. I want everyone to sleep! My 1 y/o daughter lays right down at bedtime, but my son screams and screams until he falls asleep, and THEN wakes up a few hours later and screams more. This happens 3-5 times a night. I have PPD and I can't take much more of this!

Twins usually rise about 5:30 or 6:00am, we have breakfast and a bottle at about 7am, they play for a little while and then go down around 9:00 and sleep till about 10. They play for a little while, have a bottle and lunch, then back to nap around 12:30. They wake between 2:30 and 3:00. Have a bottle and play until about 5:00 when they have dinner. They play a little after dinner and get a bath around 6:00pm. They have another bottle at 6:30 and go down between 7:00 and 7:30.....then it all breaks loose around 10pm!

Could he be teething at all? Or could it possibly be some seperation anxiety?

I am going to pop this onto Toddler Sleep as you might get more age appropriate responses over there. We usually refer everything 12 mo and up to Toddler Sleep. Hope your son's sleep improves soon! x
