Sherry - More hugs!  You seem to be having a rough time of it lately.

Charm - We're only really getting 10/11 hour nights on two naps days.  Trying to get onto one nap but he wakes he too early most the time to do a one nap day!

Anna - How did the rest of his day go?  I read a couple of your other threads and just wanted to send huge hugs and let you know that you're doing a brilliant job.  :-* :-* :-*

Paula - How did Abi's day go?

Ethan went to bed at 630pm last night due to an early one nap day.  When we checked on him at 10pm his bed was covered in sick.  Managed to get the sheet off without waking him and left him asleep.  He then woke up at 430am and we didn't really know what to do as he must of been hungry and was upset.  He wouldn't go back to sleep with us though so dh ended up taking him downstairs and giving him some food.  Took him to the doctor and had to keep him awake, the poor thing was trying to fall asleep in the car.  Put him down once we were home and he slept from 10am-1115am so did a second nap from 310pm-410pm and bed and asleep just after 730pm.  Hope he hasn't been sick again when I go up tonight.  His room now stinks of sick as well but can't seem to get rid of the smell!  ::)

Hope you all have good nights.  :-*

Well her 2nd nap ended up being 20mins, because it took her 20mins to go to sleep at 4,20.  SO I let her sleep till 4.40 and did bedtime 7.30.  It still took her 15mins to sleep, but that's ok.  Think I will hold on to this for as long as I can.  But I bet it won't be long  ::)

Sherry, HUGS dear.  I know, it sucks!!

Hugs Karen  :-* :-*  Ethan's been throwing up for quite a while now poor bub!  Hope he gets better soon.

Anna how was the 2nd nap?

Had an ok night.  Abi woke at around 3am.  I did not hear her, but DH went into her.  First time I have not heard her, I must have been tired :o

She woke for the day at 7:45ish, and napped for 1.5 hours today, so not to bad.

She woke with a fever this morning, gave her pain meds, and she was fine this afternoon, so think it all has to do with teething.

Wow Charm, K has really extended her A times now :o

Hugs Karen, sorry that Ethan is still sick.  What did the docs say?

Not much really.  Said it sounds like a gastro bug and he needs to ride it out.  What fun!  Did say to take him back at the end of the week if he's still throwing up though.  Fingers crossed he's kept his milk and food down today although haven't checked on him since he went to bed so might have a nice suprise waiting for me yet!

Paula - Sounds a good day to me.........how long was the nw for?  Just a short one?

Charm - Hope you can hold on a while longer!

I missed my boy today!!! Had to work late and missed bed time :(

Stan had a lovely day with his gran and auntie - got 45 mins 9.20-10.05, and then 1.5hrs 1.15-2.45. Was in bed at 7 and went straight to sleep without a peep. Hoping for a slightly later morning tomorrow although I'll be awake early anyway, feeling nervous about a big meeting  :-\

Karen, poor Ethan - this has been going on for a long time hey? Hope he's feeling much better soon.
Paula, wow, would give my arm for a 7.45 morning!

ok, i think i am back :P still not over and done with here but certainly back on track, fingers crossed!

charmie, i'd suggest nudging the first nap to 10mins later if you are dropping to a 20min arvo nap too. nearly ready to switch to 1 nap again by the look of things.

amyethan (sorry i've forgotten your first name, mummy mush baby brain i swear ::)) whenever hunter has gastro we do no milk for 24hrs, then gradually add it back again over the next two days in dilluted amounts. apparently milk/dairy can irritate the stomach lining and stops it rehealing or something when they have gastro.

hugs to all experiencing sickness, darn teeth, and sleepy time dramas.

Kirry I'm glad you're back on track  :-* :-*

Anna seems like Stan had a good nap day yesterday  ;)  Sorry you missed his bedtime.  DH is always so sad when he misses her bedtime, especially since if he misses bedtime he wouldn't have seen her for the whole day.

Karen, hope you did not find that surprise  ;)

So this morning I put K down for 1st nap 15mins later than yesterday....it took her another 15mins to fall asleep ~sigh~  So she fell asleep at 11 and there wasn't enough time for a long nap and then a short one.  So I let her sleep for 45mins and did 2nd nap at 3.30.  She fell asleep almost instantly but there isn't much time for a long nap otherwise bedtime will be too late.  So I'm taking the plunge tomorrow and going for 1 nap.  I'm scared to death and I know I won't sleep tonight.  But I think it's time now.  So I'm planning nap at 12  and 5hrs a time from her wake up until bedtime.  How does that sound?

charmie, did she do well on those times last time she switched or did she get ot? i know she's older now tho but if she doesnt look like she'll hang out til 12 then maybe go for 1130 and a 15/20min arvo nap for a few days then go to one nap.

Kirry I know what you mean  :-\  But I know she won't take the arvo nap if she takes a long nap in the morning.  She was fighting the catnap even though I am limiting her am nap.  maybe I will still start with 11.30 though and do early bedtime.  I was going to do early bedtime even with 12 so...

stating the obvious but just do lots and lots and lots of quiet time. when we got back to one nap or if he has a busted nap, we kinda do a 30mins on 30mins off type thing, so 30 mins of usual activity then 30 mins puzzles/book/dvd whatever will keep him still for a little while. i also kinda rig his snacks on those days so he has to sit still longer to eat, so give him an apple that takes him forever to munch away at or raisins that he has to pick up one by one, etc.
good luck :-*

Picking raisins up one by one....hahaha.... that doesn't happen here :)
Lyle shoves a handful of anything into his mouth. He is capable of picking up one by one, just chooses not to :)

Hope your day goes well Charm.

We went back to the 20 min am nap today. He's napping right now, actually I should say 25 min nap
I did 25min am nap 2.5 hours A time.

Another 1.5 hour NW again last night :(

Yesterday was pretty good, 45 mins in the am (9.20-10.05) and then 1.5hrs in the pm (1.15-2.45). DH had him in bed at 7 and apparently he went straight to sleep with no problem. Slept through til 6.30, 11.5hrs which is good and which I think is 'target' for us. 12 hours happens occasionally but too rarely to base anything on. Eventually I would like to have bedtime 7.30 and wake up 7.

Today he slept 1hr at 10 (Mum had him today and misunderstood my instructions ::) ) and another hour 2.30-3.30. Was a bit of a late bedtime due to a long wait at the Dr (he has an infected insect bite on his knee :-X :'( very bad news for a crawler, he has to do a funny limpy crawl on one knee and one foot), but went to sleep easily at 7.20ish.

So we'll see what happens tomorrow

Thanks everyone for all the support through this. If he wakes up before 6.30 tomorrow I will ask nursery to do 30 mins at 9.30 and longer (hopefully 1hr plus) at 1pm. If he wakes after 6.30-7 I'll do 10am and 1.30.

Kirry, good to have you back and glad Hunter is feeling better. Sherry, sorry about the NWs, you must be exhausted. Will be so good when this transition is over hey? Karen, thank you for the hugs - is Ethan better today?

Kirry - It's Karen!  Thanks for that.  I did read your post on the other thread but forgot to reply.  I have been limiting milk as much as possible but then he's wake at about 4am starving and scream until he got his milk.  Think he's doing better, for now anyway!

Anna - Glad things are going well.  My Mum just totally ignores my instructions when she has them!  I've given up telling her off as she just ignores me anyway.  Ethan seems to be much better thanks so hopefully will be all back to normal soon.

Sherry - Hugs on the nw.  Ethan woke up at 430am so I checked on him, laid him down and put the earplugs in and went back to sleep.  I know that's not very bw of me but when dh is on nights and I've got them both the following day then I need some sleep!  It's the only thing that works with him when he starts dong long nw's and soon doesn't bother anymore after a couple of days.

Charm - Hope you have a good night.  Think we're also well on the way to one nap.

Paula - How's Abi been getting on?  Any sign of those new teeth yet?  The last molar is finally breaking through on the other side.  I can't believe how long these teeth have taken to come through!

After his 430am nw he woke up for the day at 630am but have no idea how long he was awake for in the night as I was busy sleeping!  Did my usual trick of leaving early for toddler group but he didn't fall asleep in the car.  Was getting sleepy on the way home but I kept him awake and did lunch then we had one of my favourite 'family naps' and he slept for about 2 hours and was up at 230pm and nicely to bed for 7pm.  Hopefully he'll have a later morning as we've got another toddler group on so will probably have to be a one nap day again.
