Noah was VERY touchy and spirited, and even though EASY was a dream for his big brother, I found many of my 'tricks' didn't work with Noah. He too got so overtired that NOTHING worked right. You can back and read all my panicked posts if you'd like.

Anyway, to help you catch him up on his OT, during his next *several* awake times, keep everything VERY low-key. Almost like you are in constant wind-down mode. Keep him in dimly lit rooms, don't visit others, I even limited Noah's Daddy time because Daddy was just too much darn fun!
This well help you avoid that fussiness that just escalates out of control.
Also, establishing my bedtime routine before anything else really acted as an anchor to setting the routine in place. No matter what, every single night at 6:15 pm we start our bedtime routine, and he is in bed by 7. The only exception in his life since I have established this has been Christmas. This will get your night sleep in better order so that maybe your son can also START his day at about the same time every day, as others have mentioned.
I really did have so much trouble getting EASY going with Noah. Feel free to PM me if you have questions.
