LOL, I was actually gonna post about this soon, you beat me to it!  I finally got Julissa's naps to extend & we are starting daycare next week.  She is only going to be there for one nap a week though, so I guess I shouldn't worry so much.  They are all in the same room, but the lights are dimmed & it seems like most of the kids go to sleep around the same time as Julissa.  She is spirited & interested in seeing everything that goes on, so I am not sure if she will settle herself to sleep or just want to be nosy about what everyone is doing (hopefully sleeping).

I was wondering how they get so many kids to sleep at the same time.  I know Julissa would not fall asleep in a bouncy though.  At my daycare some fall asleep independantly & the others they put in the crib, which has wheels, and they rock them that way.  It's also a good way for them to extend naps too.

How is it going?  Is your lo falling asleep independantly & taking good naps?

lilflav, I have wondered too how they manage to get all the kids to sleep at the same time, but they do it.

The nursery even transitioned my DD from sleeping in a cot, onto a sleeping mat when she turned 1 and moved out of the baby room :o

Hi, thought I would report back at the end of our 2nd week - had 6 days now at nursery. Naps aren't getting any longer - most days he has 45 mins in the morning and 45 in the afternoon. I am not too worried about this though. I have 2 very good things to report. Firstly, they say ds is going to sleep in the cot every day  - and he is the only baby to do this!!!!!!!!!!! How proud am I!!! All down to Tracy and this site so thanks very much. The second thing is I was really concerned that he wouldn't go down for his naps as well at home as he used to. But I am pleased to say this hasn't got any worse - if anything it has got better. Yay!!

By the way I haven't a clue how they get all the babies to sleep if they need to sleep at the same time. I so would love to have a webcam to see.

Fantastic news that he is settling himself for naps.  I think my DD was the only one to do this too at nursery.  It is a great feeling when they tell you that your lo is the only one that does not need to be rocked etc.

You say that your lo is having 45 minute naps in nursery, do you think that he could need an A time adjustment?

My ds does the same at daycare as well. In the morning he will take a 45 minute nap but in the afternoon he takes 2-3 hour nap. I think that he just wants to see everything that is going on in the morning and doesn't want to miss anything (he is very nosey and curious!) but in the afternoon when the other boys go down he goes to sleep at the same time and is often sleeping well after the others awaken. I believe that just getting them to go to sleep at daycare is a feat in itself. It sounds like your LO is adjusting just fine!
