How to incorporate bath into EASY schedule
« on: January 08, 2009, 00:03:14 am »
Hi

Everyone says its a good idea for baby to have a bath before bedtime as part of ritual. i'm on a 3 hr EASY with my 10 week old. he has a feed at 4pm and this takes about 30 mins. He gets cranky at variable times. Today he went to sleep at 5.45pm and to sleep at 6pm. He's doing a horrible 45 minute nap thing at the moment so woke at 6.45. we had bath then.

This really makes for EASAEY doesn't it? Also he seems very alert after bath, not chilled out at all, though he enjoys it.

Any suggestions?

Lara

If it wakes him up, I wouldn't worry about it for now. Your lo is still very little, perhaps you can wait until he's older, has longer A times and is more likely to be chilled out after a bath.

I did more of a "getting into jammies" thing at 10 weeks, with lotion and massage, not so much a bath.  The real wash down was in the morning, because it was so fun for him.

DS also found night time bath stimulating
We purposefully did bath breast/bottle bed so that he would have some time to really wind down after bath before going to bed.  It worked so well we are still doing it at nearly 11m!
