Acne cream while nursing...

Can I use OTC benzoyl peroxide (clearasil cream) while nursing? I was directed not to during my pregnancy so I just want to be sure.

Products that contain benzoyl peroxide and salicyclic acid are considered safe for both mother and baby.  Accutane and antibiotics for acne are NOT safe.  HTH.

Looked it up to be sure:

Over-the-counter topical acne medicines containing benzoyl peroxide or salicyclic acid are considered compatible with breastfeeding. Per Thomas Hale, PhD (author of Medications and Mothers' Milk), "The transcutaneous absorption of both of these drugs is minimal to nil. Peroxides, even if absorbed, would be instantly metabolized in the body and would not be able to reach the milk compartment."

Mine was too!  I actually loved Proactive - worked wonders for me.

Have you ever used Klear Action, half the price and just about the exact ingredients. I really liked it just as much as Proactive. I live overseas so I'm not sure where to buy it in the states but found it on drugstores.com.
