Hey Emm...we have a playroom for Sophia (and thank goodnes for that given her growing collection of toys...and BIG ones too). Just like Stacy it is located downstairs in the basement where we do most of our living anyway. Her play area is actually adjacent to the family room..pretty much one BIG space kwim? So we have the big TV, Wii video games etc (entertainment center) against the big wall at the end of the room, a bathroom is right next to it. The family area is conventional...pciture frames, books, coffee table and couch.
A sectional divides the space between the 2 areas.
In Dd's play area, I got 2 sets of 12 toy bin organizers from Toys R Us. All her big toys are in there...her kitchen, table and chairs set, her 4 foot dollhouse, her big rocking horse (Reginald), floor pillows, and for now her battery operated suv (which we will move into the garage in the spring)....so there is decent room in there. I always aim to vacuum in there everyday but usually manage every 2-3 days. Stacy however has a point...I am getting ready to ditch these bin organizers which don't hold a whole hell of a lot and the bright colors aren't working for me anymore....should have used a bookshelf with plastic bins like she did. It's okay...will hopefully make decent $$$ at our yard sale. The carpet is dark green and the cats live there so it's important to me to keep it tidy and clean. I don't stress anymore about keeping it pristine, and quite frankly it still manges to look quite decent in there. I let DD make a mess and get creative down in her area, after all it is HER space to play. I make a habit of picking up with her afterwards if we can, if not I just do it later on whenever I have the time...sometimes I let the contents of her dollhouse lay around for days....no big deal. I don't usually do crafts...but we have a study where the computer is and though not fixed just yet...I plan to put up a good sized L shaped table for the puter and simple scrapbooking or even some of my artwork one day.
