Agree with DH Mashimaro!!  Keep giving him the sippy cup!!  Even if he is using it as a toy now.  He will get it eventually!!

Also, DD does better with "lumpier" food also.  Maybe because there is actual texture to it as opposed to the liquidy stuff???

re sippy cup - I agree, give it to him at meal times each or most times. He learns by playing with it. DS is only really just learnt that the sippy cup takes his thirst away, he played with it for some time.

Will begrudgingly admit to DH that he's right.  :P

Found some huge plastic bibs in a drawer that were given to us when he was born and haven't used yet, forgot I was saving them until he was on solids and needed to be covered in a tarp - so it won't be as bad now as at least he won't be soaked through!

Sippy cup spitting Olympics it is!

Hah - so with you on the sippy cup!

My LO is pretty similar with the solids - might get a spoonful down but most ends up in his hair, my hair, the floor, the carpet, the chair etc etc - however give him the sippy cup - his face lights up and he's off - most of it ends up all over him (and me!) and the few times he actually managed to swallow he's choked on the water!  But it is def his new best friend   and who am I to deny him that ;D

Oh yes - a glug of water in his eye and up his nose? HIL-AAARRRR-EEEE-UUS.   I drop down his throat? The end of the frikkin world!  ::)

I've also noticed that as soon as I am done feeding him, he's overly eager to play roly-poly and get on the floor so he can roll onto his tummy.  Strange, because he HATES being on his tummy.   But, I clued in today as to why -- as soon as he gets there, it makes him belch. Not burp -- BELCH.  A good big fat MAN belch..  And aaaallllll of the food he's swallowed comes up with it.  Shocks himself with it for a second, and then starts giggling like crazy.

Once again, I ask, why I have been blessed with a boy and not a pretty little girl who smiles and sits pretty and plays nicely?

Don't worry, girls are just the same at this age! LOL :D :D Some of the burps and farts my DD has let loose are AMAZING! And she gets food all over as well. It's just that her hair will eventually be longer and harder to clean out. ;)

Our LO's sounds like twins - and I thought he'd just decided his tummy was fun and you've made me click - everytime he's letting out a huge great burp  :D LOL
