is this enough fluid
« on: February 04, 2009, 01:35:16 am »
hi all
my ds does not drink nearly as much as other kids. never has, but lately it seems that he should by rights not even survive. he drinks a sip (literally) of either milk or diluted juice for breakfast. usually he eats waffles or oatmeal as he likes warm food so no fluids there. when he does have cereal he won't even drink the sip, just whatever milk is in the cereal. on school mornings he has juice with the other kids, but when he's home he usually doens' t want anything. i try to drink water around him and he'll want a sip of mine, but that's it. then at lunch he'll have about 1/2 cup of milk, then a big cup of about 8-10 oz of milk for afternoon snack, and another 1/2 cup of something with dinner. that's it. he seems to pee enough. gets about 4 diapers full, and they are FULL. where does all the liquid come from that he pees out??? he eats some fruit, but not HUGE amounts of it, maybe an apple a day, some berries, some carrots, cucumber but not big amounts.
i know that as long as he pees enough i shouldn't worry but sometimes i can't help it! is anyone else's kids this way?
