soo sensitive to noise in the morning - any ideas ????
« on: February 04, 2009, 10:21:21 am »
hi girls
im sure there are posts similar here somewhere but here goes

dd2 is almost 2 & is a very light sleeper ( we live in the country&its v.quite so i think this led to her waking easy in the morn) ...anything can wake her from 5am+...we cant turn the heat on as the noise of the rads ticking even wakes her  :o her little sister 7months is having sleeping probs at the min so her crying/chattering is waking her & i end up with the whole house being awake at 5am!!!
i suppose what im asking is if anyone came up with an idea on how to desensitize their LO to noise ( she she doesnt wake at night regardless of noise) ....she has dropped her day nap therefore i feel needs her full sleep, i had thought of playing a natural/soothing sounds CD on repeat in her room so drown out other noises in the house...anyone try this??

I use a sound machine for my son. It blocks out any sound when he sleeps. It is a white noise machine. It plays rain falls, water fall, cricket sounds. We use the rain fall, it is more soothing.

We use a fan to drown out the noises.

I dont know that it would help NOW, but for both of my LO's I always tried to save the vacuuming for when they went down for naps during the day (when they were babies) so that noise wouldn't be an issue....but that's probably the ONLY issue my DS doesnt have with sleep LOL
Good luck :)
