Cough in middle and after feed
« on: February 09, 2009, 08:42:56 am »
I have a 5 week old who has a really bad cough (dry) half way through his feeds or at the end of his feeds. It used to happen once or twice a day and now it is at every feed. Sometimes he spits up after the coughing, other times he doesn't. It does not seem to bother him (he doesn't cry), but it sounds horrible and sometimes it looks like he is choking. I am guessing this is reflux, but I do not see coughing as a sign of reflux. He has back off the amount of formula he is eating, but he is still eating and sleeping well. Any ideas? Could this be reflux? Thanks!

Hello stuckingermany!!  Congrats on your lo and Welcome to BW!!  Unfortunately I do not have experience with reflux, but many of the other mommies here do and I'm sure you'll get some great advice.  In the meantime, check out this thread and see if it answers any questions!

The dry cough is definitley a symptom of reflux.

Have a look at this thread, and see which of these symptoms your lo has.
