Kirry I was doing set nap time at 12, but wake up has always been 7ish so I guess it was set a time too.

She was rubbing her eyes at 11.20 so I put her down and she was asleep by 11.30.  Then the effing postman woke her up...after just 1hr.  I feel like screaming  >:( >:(  Now we're going to have to do 2 naps for sure, cause there's no way she'll handle the long a time till 7, not even 6.  I am sooo angry.  Another wasted opportunity to crack this darn a time.  I'm never going to make this.  And since she is such a good sleeper, I know that it's all my fault if she's not sleeping well now  :'(

Big Hugs Charm - It's not your fault. Not all little one's handle the switch as well as others. It has been 7 months for us :(  And we are just now making it. I know there were days that I felt like it was my fault. But that's irrational thinking. You'll get there. I believe you will get there soon because K an Lyle have always been close in timing with transitions.

We also had a bad night. We has a cry out at 7:58. A night waking at 9:11 I had to go in and then three more cry outs during the night and he was up for day at 5:55. So not even an 11 hour night :(
I decided my sleep window will be 11-11:30 for now.
We got exact a 2 hour nap today. I think I will do a slightly early bedtime.

I hope you were able to get a second nap Charm.

(((((hugs))))) Charm it's pants when naps go wrong over something as silly as the postman.

Stan woke up at 6.30, almost a 12 hour night (apart from the early night waking at 7.30). I wanted to have him asleep before 12 but we went out and it took longer than I expected to get home so it ended up being 12.15 by the time he was asleep. He went to sleep with no lunch (just wouldn't eat anything) and I was expecting him to wake up early, hungry, but he managed 2.5hrs, which was great!! Happy and chatty this afternoon, despite getting very cold when we went swimming. Ate an enormous supper and went to bed with zero fuss at 7.

Thanks for the hugs...I'm afraid I need some more  :(

She refused pm nap twice.  And that was in the stroller while we were out.  The same K who took 1.5hrs nap in the stroller last Tuesday  ??? ???  Anyway she was in a nasty mood all the way.  Bedtime was at 6 and she fell asleep after 15mins of chatting.  What on earth is going on?  I really don't know how to proceed from here  :-\

Anna that was a fantastic Nap!!  Stan is adjusting really well to the 1 nap business.  I'm happy for you.

Sherry, hugs on the bad night.  Luckily he did a good nap today.

Huge Hugs Charm.
Just remember, tomorrow is another day. She will get it soon. I think you are just in the major throws of the 2-1 switch. She will make it soon.

Sherry thanks for the encouragement.  Luckily she had a very good night.  Slept from 6.15 till 7 this morning with 1 brief cry out at around 8pm and a chatting session at around 4am  ::)  I am wondering if it could be a developmental thing too.  She also had some horrible poos yesterday and today and she's got a nasty nappy rash, so teething is definitely throwing a spanner in our works.

Today I'm going to try for the nap at 12, which has been giving me a 1.5hrs nap and 7pm bedtime so far.  We need to go out for lunch at 2pm so am not going to experiment.  But tomorrow I might try to do the nap at 12.15 instead.  Any thoughts?

Hi Charm,

You have your reasons for all the troubles right there - the poos and rash, obviously sometihng is amiss.  Be kind to yourself, too many of us Mums have way too high standards,  the LO's will just do their thing, no matter how much we try to make it right! You're doing a great job!  And you also have great advice for us too!

Thank you Eloise  :-* :-* :-*  I know you are right but I can't help feeling guilty when I can't make it better for her.  How have you been doing?

charmie, i hear you on the mummy guilts, i feel awful that i just cant get more than 12.5hrs total sleep into him at the moment. and darn teeth, we've had three days of most awful poos and rash too so i'm wondering if that's why he wont settle back to sleep for a little longer in the morning. would W2S be an option to extend her nap? also wondering if maybe a fan or some type of white noise during the day would help her block out things like the postman. hunter has a fan on during the day, he doesnt need it to sleep like he used to when he was little but it helps him sleep thru the dogs barking next door, the garbage truck, etc etc. hugs hun, i'm sure she'll work this out soon :-*

Kirry we already use the fan for naps and night time to muffle noises.  This morning we have put some bubble wrap on the letter box so it won't make much clutter anymore.  We should have done that ages ago...it would have saved me all the arguments with the postman :P  I am considering W2S, but would like to try more a times before that.  She has always been able to do great sleeps with the right a times.

I ended up putting her down at  11.30 again this morning, and she napped for 1hr 15mins.  I think it's UT though.  So tomorrow no matter what I'm putting her down at 12 and hope she goes back to 1.5hr naps till 1.30, so at least we can have a 7pm bedtime again.  Today it's going to be 6pm again.  My gut feeling is she needs more a time because when she was doing nap at 12 for 1.5hrs she was waking up happy.

We were out and caught the wrong train so got home a bit late, and K just went down now at 7.15  :-\  She went down well...I hope she has a good night so that tomorrow we can start afresh.

How is everyone else doing?

No she was waking up by herself after 1hr 30mins.  Are you thinking that maybe she got used to waking up after 1hr 30?
