Please check my schedule!
« on: March 15, 2009, 11:29:58 am »
Hi,
My son just had his first birthday yesterday.  He has been following the same schedule for the past few months and I know we are due for some changes.  The problem is he has been waking up earlier and earlier every morning and his naps have been getting shorter, but he wakes up crabby.  Overall he is getting less sleep, and he seems much more irritable.  I know he has entered the overtired zone - I just don't know what to change.  Here is out typical schedule:

6:15 wake, bottle (often wakes at 5:15 or 5:30 but I try and follow this same routine on those days)
7:30 breakfast
9:00 nap (about 1.5 - 2 hours)
11:00 wake, snack
12:00 lunch
2:00 nap (about 45 minutes)
3:00 wake, snack
5:00 dinner
6:30 bottle
7:00 bed

I've tried waking him early from his am nap, I've tried extending his pm nap and I've tried keeping him up longer.  I haven't seen any changes.  Any ideas?
Thank you!

Hi bennybean!!  Your lo is soooo cute!

Have you tried putting him down earlier/later for that PM nap?

I'm going to move your thread to toddler sleep since your lo has turned 1.  I am sure you'll be able to get better advice from the community over there  :-* :-*

I've tried putting him down later for the pm nap.  It's usually the same thing - he sleeps for 35-45 minutes and wakes up crabby.  Maybe I'll try putting him down a little earlier and see how that goes.
