Please Help - Water for Formula on Holiday
« on: February 22, 2009, 09:19:12 am »
Hi Ladies

We're going to visit family in north africa on friday and I've been wondering for some time what water I should use for mixing her formula. I know that milton sterilising tablets can be used but they say use one tablet for 100 litres of water -which is rather a lot of water to sterlise in one go!

So is it ok to use bottled water to mix the formula or should I just boil water for 15 mins to sterlise myself? I would normally be quite relaxed about this but when I went for 5 days, I was ill for 5 weeks afterwards so I'd hate for her to pick anything up.

Any tips would be welcomed!
Thanks
Debx

Use boiled bottled water for formula. Try and find one with the lowest sodium content as that is the main issue with bottled water (the mineral salts)

Thanks girls for reassuring me! I'll have to get DH to translate the bottle to check the mineral content!! I've got a kettle so think I will boil the bottled water jsut to be on the safeside.
