ok to go cold turkey to 1 nap with 16 mth old

Hiya

I've posted a few times recently about transition to 1 nap.  At the moment we have 1 nap at 11am for 30-40 mins and then a pm nap for usually 1.5 hrs about 230-245pm.  Recently it has been harder to get the pm nap. The 2 days Lewis is at nursery he has 1 nap.
At this age can we go cold turkey to 1 nap at 12pm or is this mad?  Should I just make the am nap the long nap?  Oh I wish there were hard and fast rules to follow!!

We're just getting to the end of week 2 of making the switch cold turkey. Stan is a bit younger. I expect at this age he'll be able to cope with it fine. Stan is getting increasingly OT towards the end of the week (he is having one nap at nursery), so I'll do 2 naps on Saturday just to help him catch up a bit. We are also doing early bedtimes when his one nap is short.

We went cold turkey to one nap at 12/12.30 with both of ours, ds at about 12 months, dd around 16 months. It will probably take a week or so to settle into it. All you can do is try it and see if it works! If he's already doing it at nursery a couple of times a week it will hopefully be a pretty easy transition!

Thanks for the responses.  My gut instinct was telling me to go for it and that he would be ok.  Glad to hear others have done it!
