Eliminating 2 am
« on: March 17, 2009, 01:26:26 am »
Hi!
My lo is 11 weeks old. She has been on EASY since day one. She is what I would call a good sleeper. She is very predictable.  She is in her crib by 7:30 pm sleeping. She gets a dream feed at about 10:00 pm and then back to sleep.  She wakes faithlfully at 2:00 AM each night.  Nurses and then back to sleep until about 5:30 am.  This routine works for us.  The challenge is that at 2AM I am half alseep and I think that so is she. I never have any idea how long she nurses as we both tend to doze off.  I usually wake up and she is sleeping in my arms. I put her back in her crib and she goes back to sleep.

Anyway, we do not have a real problem but it would be nice to eliminate the 2 am feed - or will it just go away on its own?  I have a 19 month old who sleeps all night and was on EASY.  I cannot remember how it worked with him though.

Thanks for any advice.

Darcey

Hi Darcey,

Congrats on the newborn!

I would say that of course every child is different, but it's still pretty early for her to be STTN. She's not even three months old yet, right? If she is angel/textbook as you say, she will likely drop that 2am feeding in the next few months.

With one of my twins, she eliminated the feed on her own. With the other we had to eliminate it for her. As always, it depends on the Niblet!

So basically that was no help except to say, that she's pretty young and congrats!

HTH,
Lu

I had the same question with my 7 week old. When should I start trying to eliminate the 2 am feeding?
